NEST 2021 Eligibility
Interested applicants are advised to check the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. Conducting authorities will strictly reject the application forms of ineligible candidates i.e. those who do not fulfill the minimum qualifying criteria. Admit cards will be issued only to the candidates who have successfully applied for the exam. The minimum eligibility criteria have been mentioned below:
Educational Qualification:
- Students should have completed their 12th from a recognised university.
- The minimum marks in 12th should be at least 60% or more (55% for reserved category)
- Applicants should have Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology as core subjects in 12th standard.
Age Limit:
- The reserved category candidates will give a relaxation of 5 years as compared to that of general candidates.
- The age of the candidate should not be more than 20 years.
NEST Reservation Criteria:
A certain section of our society is regarded as a backward section and therefore a percentage of seats are reserved for those candidates. Some of the reserved categories are mentioned below:
- OBC belonging to the non-creamy layer.
- Schedule Cast (SC)/Schedule Tribe (ST)
- PwD (Physically Handicapped)
- Supernumerary Quota from Jammu and Kashmir
