All India Medical Science (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar has starts providing consultation to patients through telemedicine facility. This facility will helps to maintain the social distancing. The pandemic COVID-19 out break the country is in lock down so this facility will helps both the doctor and the patients to fight against corona. The departments enlisted for consultation through telemedicine mode include general medicine, surgery, obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Orthopedics, Pulmonary medicine, Psychiatry, Urology and Cardiology. in AIIMS, Bhubaneswar initially only nine departments have been included in the mobile platform .
The In-charg of medical superitendent Dr Jawahar SK Pillai said nine mobile tablets have been configured for WhatsApp video calling and the doctors will provide e- prescibe to patients via whatsapp or photo/scan or digital copy of signed prescription.
Dr Jawahar SK Pillai said"The doctor have been advised to prescribe drugs already used by patients on follow up or those drugs which are safe for use"
