What is CUCET 2020 for Chandigarh University All About?

So, what is this Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test all about? CUCET is a university level entrance examination taken online by Chandigarh University (CU). It does not matter if you are planning to take admission for undergraduate or postgraduate courses, you have to sit for this entrance examination.

This examination holds a plus point and that is the entrance test of Chandigarh university offers scholarships for all UG and PG programmes. CUCET 2020 is here to furnish you with 100% scholarships for the students for studying with advanced courses of their own choices at the central educational hub of North India.

Well, the amount of scholarship provided by the institute completely depends on merit. The institute prepares the merit list on the basis of the marks scored by candidates in CUCET (60% weightage) as well as graduation/ Class XII (40% weightage) examination. The qualified students will have to pay only 30 percent of the total fee within 15 days of declaration of result to get the scholarship benefits.

CUCET 2020 Syllabus

If you are applying for a bachelor course you need to be well aware of the major subjects you dealt with in your higher secondary sessions. If you are applying for a postgraduate course, you need to prepare everything from the syllabus from your bachelor sessions.



Before you start filling up the application form of Chandigarh University entrance exam 2020, you need to meet each and every eligibility condition. Here are the undergraduate and postgraduate eligibility conditions respectively.


UG Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidates applying for the entrance examination for undergraduate courses must achieve 50% or more marks in their higher secondary (10+2) board examinations from a well-reputed board like ICSE, CBSE, PSEB, or any other state board or national board.
  • The ones appearing for the 12+2 examination in 2020 are also allowed to apply for CUCET 2020.


PG Eligibility Criteria

  • The one applying for the CUCET 2020 for postgraduate courses needs to have a minimum of 50% or more scores in their graduation.
  • The candidate must have graduated from any UGC recognized institution.

CUCET Examination 2020: Application Procedure


To fill up your online go to the official website ( and start filling up the application form.

Here is the step by step guide for form filling and appearing for the test.


Step 1

Create an account on the official website of the university with all the details like name, contact info, email address, date of birth, and so on. After the creation of the account, you will get a username and password for your account.


Step 2

Log in to your account with the username and the password and continue with the form fill up. Submit the form online along with the application fee.


Note: You will be able to choose the time and the date of appearing for the CUCET 2020 examination while filling up the form.


Step 3

Select your test centers online and download the admit card from the site. After the download is complete, print it out and do not forget to carry it to the examination center.


Exam center: As you will be giving the computer-based online CUCET 2020 entrance test, you can choose the examination center as per your convenience after you have successfully registered for the exam.


CUCET 2020 offline application

The overall procedure is similar to the above section that explains the steps of appearing for the online entrance test. The one appearing for the test needs to buy the CUCET brochure cum form from the University admission offices/authorized centers py paying Rs 1000.


The candidates applying for the test have to put the unique number given on the CUCET 2020 application form (offline) while registering themselves on the official site.


Exam day guidelines

On the examination day you need to go by the following guidelines:

  • The applicants need to reach their selected examination centers on the allotted date and time.
  • All the candidates must carry their CUCET 2020 admit cards sent on their registered email address.
  • You will be allowed to ask for extra sheets for doing any rough calculations.


CUCET 2020 Results:

  • The candidates first need to visit the official site of Chandigarh Universtity.
  • There will be a Result link, on which they need to click to view the results. 
  • The selected candidates need to take a print out of teh results and keep it for future correspondence with the university during the time of admission. 


CUCET 2020 Counselling:

The counselling process will call for students who have been selected for the further rounds. The selected candidates need to bring the following documents with them:

  • Mark sheets of class 10th ans 12th
  • Category certificates (if opted for reservation)
  • Counselling letter
  • Demand Draft for Counselling fee
