"At-home solutions will now be worldwide for test takers who have been affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Both TOEFL and GRE will be taken at home till the situation is conducive for tests to be conducted at centres," Srikant Gopal, Executive Director of the TOEFL Program, told PTI.

"Precautions are being taken to ensure that the tests students will take from home meet the highest standards. for validity, reliability and security. These tests employ multiple best-in-class security measures that use both real-time human monitoring and artificial intelligence technology," he added.

TOEFL stands for Test of English as a Foreign Language. Having an international degree in today’s competitive world adds an extra charm to a candidate’s personality. It not only opens up a new horizon but also enhances the person’s employment opportunities. Over the years, it has been observed that there are many people who start catching flights to foreign countries, with the aim of achieving an international degree; be it in Engineering, Medical or Management. But, getting admission in any of the foreign universities is not as easy as it sounds. One has to go through few entrance exams, serving as prerequisites for admission to the foreign universities. TOEFL exam is one of such exams, which is conducted every year to judge the comprehensive understanding of English as a language among those students who wish to pursue higher education in foreign countries. The exam is taken to test the reading, listening, speaking and writing skills of aspiring students.  It’s an online exam that is offered 50 times a year. TOEFL exam is conducted online as well as offline mode. However, people generally opt for the Internet-based test. Currently, 8,500 colleges and universities scattered over 130 countries, use the TOEFL exam’s score.
