10 Major changes Done in JEE Main Exam pattern this year.

JEE MAIN is a national-level entrance exam to get admission into any B.E/B. Tech course in the top Engineering colleges across the country. This year JEE MAIN 2021 will conduct 4 times this year. The entrance exam will be held from 23rd February to 26th February 2021 for the February session, for the March session from 16th to 18th  March 2021, for the April session 27th to 30th April 2021, and for the May session from 24th to 28th May. But this year the conducting body NTA (National Testing Agency) has brought some changes in the Exam pattern for JEE MAIN 2021. So if you are going to appear in the next exam of JEE MAIN then we have given the new changes added to JEE MAIN this year which will help you in preparing the perfect preparation strategy according to the changes.

 
 

Changes made in JEE Main 2021

1- Conducting Body:

From this year the JEE MAIN exam is going to be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Earlier CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) used to conduct the exam.

 

2- Appearance of new session:

Earlier, the exam was conducted once a year. From this year, the JEE MAIN 2021 is going to be held 4 times a year is in February, March, April, and May.

 

3- Both sessions are accessible:

Now students can appear in both sessions if they want. And if they appear in both the exams only the highest score will be considered by the authority.

 

4- Change in question numbers & pattern:

The number of questions used to be 30 which is decreased to 25 as per the new pattern and out of which 20 would be multiple choice and 5 will be numerical questions.

5- Changes in negative marking:

This time Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry will be given equal importance. Each question consists of 4 marks. For objective-type question, one mark will be deducted for every wrong answer and there will be no negative marking for numerical-type questions.

 

6- Separate exam for B. Planning aspirant:

From this year there will be a separate exam to be conducted for the B.Planning course. This year the JEE MAIN is going to be conducted in 3 sections where paper 1 for B. Tech/B.E, paper 2 for B. Arch, and paper 3 for B.Planning. And students can appear for 1 or 2 or a total of 3 papers.

7- Change in B. Planning pattern:

Here is the table for all the changes in B.Planning-

8-  Change in B.Arch pattern:

In B.Arch there will be 77 questions instead of 81 and paper III will consist of 2 questions instead of 3 questions. Here are the details about the change-

9- Change in the total mark of B.Planning:

As the B.Planning paper now have 100 questions in total and each question is consist of 4 marks so the maximum mark of B. Planning paper is 400

 

10- Less negative response:

There is always chance of a tie in the scorecard. So there going to be a lesser number of negative responses in the paper for sure which will help in case of a tie to secure a good rank.
