The QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) World University Rankings has released the rankings for the world's top universities for the year 2021. In the top 500 of QS World University Ranking 2021, only eight Indian institutes managed to feature themselves. The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) is the topmost institute in India as per the QS World University Ranking 2021. This technical university has secured its’ place at 152nd rank in the year of 2020 rankings and now stepped down to 172nd ranking this year.

The QS World University Rankings are based on 12 factors such as employer reputation, academic reputation, student/ faculty ratio, staff with a Ph.D., papers per faculty, graduate employability, web presence, research quality, internationalization of campus, citations per paper, international faculty, and international students.
