Vellore Institute of Technology is situated was established in Vellore in the Tamil Nadu state of India in the year of 1984. It has got accreditation from NAAC, MHRD, UGC and it is affiliated with VIT University. VIT, Vellore offers a wide range of 92 courses across 12 streams including Engineering, IT, Media and Mass Communication, Commerce and Banking, Management, Science, Design, Pharmacy, Vocational, Agriculture, Hotel Management, Law. The VIT has turned into a University combining three other campuses located in Bhopal, Chennai, and Amaravati, and is run by the VIT Group of Institutes. 

VIT campus is spread over 250 Acres and within the campus, there is a Hostel facility, Academic Zone, Auditorium, ATM, Canteen, Computer Lab, Gym, Library, and Medical Facilities. All the Class Rooms are well-furnished as well as well equipped. It has developed a student-centered success culture and also ensures high-quality teaching-learning and research experiences.  VIT has built a record of consistent increase in the quality and quantity of research publications.

A large number of courses are offered by VIT, Vellore which include B.Tech, BArch, BA, BSc, and BDes at UG level, MTech, MDes, MArch, MA, and MSc at PG level, and Ph.D. in various specializations. It also offers an International Transfer Programme (ITP). By this innovative program, students may opt for studying at a partner university of VIT, after completing their two years of bachelor’s degree in VIT Vellore.

An excellent placement record is consistently attached to the history of Vellore Institute of Technology as it is providing ample opportunities to its students to blossom their career goals. The grand inauguration of the campus drive of VIT started with 7,403 job offers from 382 companies during the phase. Till now, a total of 4,503 students have received multiple offers from a diverse group of companies.

Wipro Technologies (Wipro Turbo) offered job opportunities to 278 students and the average CTC is 6.50 LPA for the 2020 graduating batch. This is the highest number of job offers given by the company to students from a single institution. Due to this achievement, the university has got a place in the Limca Book of Records 2020 edition for the 9th time.
