NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is the only medical entrance exam in India for admission into MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) and BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) courses at various government and private colleges across India. Through NEET, medical aspirants can get into their dream college to have a career in the Health Care Industry. NEET 2021  will be conducted in different  exam centres across 155 cities. It is a 3-hour long test conducted in offline mode (pen and paper-based test) for maximum marks of 720.

There are very limited seats as compared to the aspirants every year that India offers through its medical institutions. However, the seats have increased with the addition of a 10% reservation under the EWS category (Economically Weaker Section). A total of 78,333 MBBS Seats and 26,773 BDS Seats are offered at 549 medical colleges and 313 dental colleges across the country.

AIIMS and JIPMER
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has discontinued the AIIMS MBBS and JIPMER MBBS entrance exams from the 2020-21 academic year. From here on, all of AIIMS and JIPMER medical colleges will provide admission based on NEET scores. A total of 1150 MBBS seats are offered at 15 AIIMS institutes and 250 MBBS seats are offered at 1 JIPMER institutes present in India.
