Pharmacy is a branch of science which deals with the study  of discovering, producing, preparing, dispensing, and reviewing drugs, aiming to ensure the safe, effective, and affordable use of drugs. those who have completed their course of study in this field are known as pharmacists. There are many types of pharmacy like Community Pharmacy, Hospital Pharmacy, Clinical Pharmacy, Industrial Pharmacy, Compounding Pharmacy, Consulting Pharmacy, Ambulatory Care Pharmacy, Regulatory Pharmacy, Homecare Pharmacy, and so on. Pharmacy technicians support the work of pharmacists and other health professionals by performing a variety of pharmacy-related functions, including dispensing prescription drugs and other medical devices to patients and instructing on their use. They may also perform administrative duties in pharmaceutical practice, such as reviewing prescription requests with medic's offices and insurance companies to ensure correct medications are provided and payment is received.The professional practice is becoming more clinically oriented as most of the drugs are now manufactured by pharmaceutical industries so the bright future can be easily established through the pharmacy. Career and Job Prospects of Pharmacy in India:

India is a huge market having the second highest populated country in the world. In the field of pharmacy, India is the 3rd largest pharmaceutical industry in the world by volume. India is the largest provider of generic medicines globally, occupying a 20% share in global supply by volume and also supplies 50% of global demand for vaccines. so its been an easy task for a health care company to established here. Some best career options in pharmacy in given below-

1. Drug Inspector:

The post of Drug Inspector is common in health-related ministries and departments of Central or various State Governments, in various health-related projects (like National Health Mission, Family & Child Welfare Programmes, Tobacco Control Programme, etc). The recruitment process for the post of Drug Inspector is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) or various State Public Service Commission’s (SPSCs) from time to time as a vacancy arises. 

Works-

The work functions of a Drug Inspector include inspection of all such business units which are engaged in the production, merchant, storage, or sale of food items, medicines, cosmetics, or similar products. Monitoring and inspection of hygienic conditions at the premises of all such units is also a responsibility of a Drug Inspector.

Drug Inspector has the authority to cancel the license of such business units which are found having irregularities in terms of the compliance of standards related to safety, quality, and hygienic premises.

 Collection of samples for bacterial and other chemical tests, seizing the fake/duplicate production items, addictive items, and destroying them are also the functions of Drug Inspector.

Salary:

For the post of Drug Inspector, initially, a salary is given according to the Pay Matrix Level - 7, i.e. Rs. 44,900 – 1,42,400 of the Seventh Pay Commission. Apart from this, various allowances (DA, HRA, etc.) are also given.

Eligibility:

Both the B.Pharma and D.pharma students can apply for this post.

2. Analytical Chemist:

Analytical Chemist has to look after the elements used in a compound and its reaction with other elements. Analytical chemistry studies and uses instruments and methods used to separate, identify, and quantify matter. In practice, separation, identification or quantification may constitute the entire analysis or be combined with another method. Analytical chemistry is also focused on improvements in experimental design, chemometrics, and the creation of new measurement tools. Analytical chemistry has broad applications to medicine.

Salary:

An entry-level Analytical Chemist with less than 1 year experience can expect to earn an average total compensation (includes tips, bonus, and overtime pay) of?

3. Hospital Drug Coordinator:

Hospital Drug Coordinator has to prepare medications under the directions of a pharmacist and manage dosage as prescribed. 

Salary:

2 lakh to 3 lakh per annum.

both B pharma and D pharma students are eligible for this.

4. Drug Therapist:

Drug Therapist is required to counsel people who are addicted to prescribed or illegal drugs. Pharmacotherapy is therapy using pharmaceutical drugs, as distinguished from therapy using surgery (surgical therapy), radiation (radiation therapy), movement (physical therapy), or other modes.

Salary:

2 lakhs to 7 lakhs

both B pharma and D pharma students are eligible for this.

5. Regulatory Manager:

Regulatory Manager has to study scientific and legal documents and organize various formats. Regulatory affairs managers are responsible for knowing the most current applicable regulations that affect their industry and ensuring their company complies with those regulations. 4 lakhs to 10 lakhs

Eligibility:

Need a graduation degree in any subject of Pharmacy.

6. Medical Transcriptionist:

Responsible for listening to the recorded dictation of a doctor (or a healthcare professional), transcribe and interpret the dictation into diagnostic test results, referral letters, operative reports, and other such documents. Medical transcription, also known as MT, is an allied health profession dealing with the process of transcribing voice-recorded medical reports that are dictated by physicians, nurses and other healthcare practitioners. Medical reports can be voice files, notes taken during a lecture, or other spoken material. These are dictated over the phone or uploaded digitally via the Internet or through smart phone apps.

Salary:

1.8 lakhs to 2.5 lakhs

Both B Pharma and D Pharma students can apply for this.

7. Health Care Unit Manager:

Responsible for overseeing the functioning of all aspects of a health care unit from supervising staff to monitoring patient care.  Health services managers have the organizational, legal, and financial knowledge that clears the way for doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers to do their jobs efficiently, effectively, and within the auspices of ever-changing healthcare policy and law.

Salary:

2 lakhs to 3.5 lakhs

Eligibility:

Both B Pharma and D Pharma students can apply for this.

8. Food and Drug Inspector:

Inspects establishment where foods, drugs, cosmetics, and similar consumer items are manufactured, handled, stored, or sold to enforce legal standards of sanitation, purity, and grading: Visits specified establishments to investigate sanitary conditions and health and hygiene habits of persons handling consumer products.

Salary:
