SET 2020 Eligibility, Pattern, Syllabus, Cut-off, Registration

SET (Symbiosis Entrance Test) is a University level entrance examination conducted by Symbiosis International University to offer admission into various UG and Integrated courses. However, the candidates will have to appear for the specific paper for law (SLAT), design (SEED), engineering (SITEEE) and other courses (SET- General).

SET 2020 Admit Card

The admit card for SET 2020 will be available during the 4th week of May 2020. Registered candidates can download their admit cards from the official website by logging in through the SET login ID created during the application process.

  • Enter log in credentials
  • The admit card will appear on the screen

SET 2020 Syllabus

The syllabus of SET is different for each course.
  • SLAT: The syllabus will consist of questions from Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Analytic Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and General Knowledge.
  • SET General Paper: The syllabus will consist of questions from General English, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, and Analytical and Logical Reasoning.
  • SITEEE: The Syllabus will have questions from the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Maths.
  • SEED: The Syllabus will consist of questions from Design Aptitude.
Syllabus for each topic:
  • General English: Synonyms, Antonyms, Error Spotting, Fill in the blanks, Analogy, Prepositions, Articles, Grammar, Vocabulary
  • Quantitative Aptitude: Percentage, Profit and Loss, Discount, Time, Speed, and Distance, Algebra, Time and Work, Number System, Permutation and Combination, Probability.
  • Logical Reasoning: Blood Relationship, Coding-Decoding, Venn Diagram, Series, Clocks, and Calendar, Situation-based Decision Making, Arrangement.
  • General Awareness: Companies and Founders, Current Affairs, Geography, Awards, Books and Authors, Sports, Science.
  • Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics: Up to class 12th 
  • Legal Aptitude: Indian Constitution, Indian Penal Code, Indian Contract Act, Family LawLaw of Torts, Legal fundamentals and terms, Legal Maxims, Important Landmarks, Supreme Court Judgements.


SET 2020 Exam Pattern:

  • Papers: The Symbiosis SET 2020 exam comprises of 4 different papers -SLAT/SET/SEED/SITEEE.
  • Sessions: There will be two sessions i.e. morning session (SLAT/SEED) and afternoon (SET/SITEEE).
  • Exam Mode: The entrance examination will be conducted through online mode.
  • Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes
  • Total Number of Questions: 150 questions in SLAT/SEED and SET and 100 questions will be for SITEEE exam.
  • Type of Questions: Multiple-choice questions.
  • Marking Scheme: 1 mark will be awarded for each right answer of SEED/SET and SLAT and for SITEEE, +2 marks will be awarded for each correct answer.
  • Negative Marking: No negative marking.

SET 2020 Cut-Off

The SET 2020 cut-off is released soon after the result is out. The cut-off is different for different institutions and courses. The cut-off will be available at the official website of Symbiosis University. Candidates clearing the cut-off will be shortlisted to proceed for the next round of selection.

SET 2020 Application form

The application form for SET 2020 will be released during the 3rd week of January at the official website of SET. Candidates will be able to fill up the application form until 3rd week of April 2020. 

Steps to apply:
  • Go to the official website of SET
  • Click on "register now"
  • Provide necessary details and submit
  • Your application ID and password will be sent to your provided email address
  • Login using those credentials
  • Fill up the application form will all the necessary details required
  • Upload scanned copies of recent passport-sized photograph and signature of the specified size
  • pay the application fee of Rs 1750 through credit card/ debit card/ net banking/ mobile wallets
  • Payment can also be made online through Easebuss Payment Gateway, Billdesk Gateway, and Indian Bank Gateway
Offline payment:

candidates can also pay the application fee of Rs 1750 through the demand draft. Take a print of the payment advice form, fill in the DD Details, sign and send it along with the DD to the Symbiosis Test Secretariat only at:

SET 2020 Counseling

SET counseling 2020 is conducted by the participating institutes of Symbiosis International University after the results are announced. The counseling is likely to be conducted during the month of June 2020. Only those candidates who have cleared the cut-off and are shortlisted will be called for the counseling process. The counseling rounds of the SET exam 2020 will be held at 2 centers only i.e. Pune and Noida. Candidates can choose their preferred location while filling the counseling form. 

  • The counseling will include a Personal Interview(PI) and Written Ability Test(WAT). 
The PI round will include:
  • General Awareness,
  • Extracurricular Activities,
  • Academics and Candidates Specific Field of Interest
  • Communication skills 
The WAT round will include:

Candidates will be required to take a PAT (Picture Association Test) and, write a short essay on any general topic allotted to them. Also, there could be subjective-type Questions and Answers round on the given topic.

For Symbiosis Centre for Media and Communication [SCMC], Pune, the SET counseling process 2020 will also include Studio Test besides PI and WAT

  • Class 10th and 12th mark sheets
  • Transfer certificate
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Address proof
  • Photo Id proof
  • Two passport-sized photographs
  • SET admit card
  • SET rank card


SET 2020 Result

The result for SET 2020 will be declared during the 3rd week of May 2020 at the official website of SET. Candidates can view their result of the course they applied for by providing their SET id and password.

Steps to view the result:
  • Go to the official website of SET
  • Click on 'Download Scorecard' tab
  • Enter login credentials i.e. SET 2020 ID and Password 
  • Check your result for the course you applied for
  • Download SET 2020 scorecard and take a print out for future references

  • Candidate’s name,
  • SET Registration and Roll number
  • Section-wise scores
  • Overall score 


SET 2020 Answer key

The answer key for SET 2020 will be released after the exam is conducted successfully. The answer key will contain all the correct options to the questions asked in the exam. Candidates will be able to calculate their total marks according to their attempted questions in the exam. In case of any problem regarding the answer key, candidates can register a complaint. After all evaluation, the authorities will release a final answer key. 


SET 2020 Eligibility Criteria:

It is very imperative to fulfill the eligibility criteria before filling the application form of SET.

For SITEEE:
  • Candidate should pass the 12th or equivalent exam from a recognized board.
  • Physics and Mathematics as a compulsory subject along with any one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subjects.
  • Candidate should secure at least 45% marks (40% in case of SC/ST) in the qualifying exam.
For BCA:
  • Applying candidate must pass 10+2 examination or diploma in engineering/technology from a recognized board/university.
  • Minimum 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST category) required in the qualifying exam.
For BBA:
  • Candidates must have passed 12th or equivalent from a recognized board.
  • Candidate should have a minimum of 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST candidates).
For Economics/ Liberal Arts/ Culinary Arts courses:
  • Candidates should have passed standard 12th or equivalent exam from a recognized board with minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% for SC/ ST candidates) is required.

A:  The SET exam is conducted once every year.

A:  No, there is no negative marking in SET 2020.


Q:  How many questions will be there in SET?
A:  The total number of questions in the SET exam varies according to different courses. 150 questions in SLAT/SEED and SET and 100 questions will be for SITEEE exam.
