B.Sc. in ITM or Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Management in India is one of the most top grossing career directions for students aspiring to be in the technical field. It has a vast career choice in the professional field. Basically, it is about storing, processing, securing, and managing information. It focuses on IT principles, methodologies, and tools to support a wide range of business functions. 

Career With B.Sc

Management is an act of getting people together to accomplish desired goals and objectives using available resources efficiently and effectively. This course covers the design, implementation, and operation of information technology together with the practice and theory of management. This degree course includes the study of software development, software testing, software engineering,     computer networking, web design, databases, programming, etc.

The course is 3 years and six semesters long. You must have scored a minimum of 50% average marks in 12th or intermediate to be eligible. Admission is based on the performance in entrance tests with a subsequent round of counseling.

Successful graduates of B.Sc. ITM course can continue further studies in the discipline may go for pursuing M.sc and later Ph.D. in the subject. Career Scopes For B.Sc in ITM

IT Support Analyst

IT Support Analysts are responsible for providing technical set-up, advice, and support to IT users via email, phone, social media, and in person. They either provide support within a particular organization, or to external businesses, customers of a particular product, or on an ad hoc basis. For example, there is a growing market for on-demand services for home and office tech repair, set-up, and troubleshooting.

Average salary: - 3 – 3.5 lakhs per annum

Network Engineer

Network Engineers are responsible for devising security, data storage, and disaster recovery strategies. They are responsible for building and maintaining the day-to-day operation of computer networks that companies and organizations rely on. These networks typically include an intranet, extranet, local area network (LAN), and wide area network (WAN).

Average salary: - 6.5 – 7 lakhs per annum

 

IT Consultant

IT Consultants are external analysts who evaluate a company's IT systems to help them meet their business objectives. Their primary duties include analyzing and diagnosing a company's IT infrastructure, understanding a client's business needs and designing and implementing a technology solution.IT Consultants are responsible for providing technical assistance in developing and implementing IT systems for internal as well as external clients.
Average salary: - 11- 11.5 lakhs per annum
 

Technical Sales Representative

These representatives have the responsibility to sell hardware and software and to determine the benefits of businesses of whole services and systems. They contact potential buyers, present products and services, answer questions and discuss pricing.
 
Average salary: - 3 – 3.2 lakhs per annum
 

Web Designer

Web Designers create the design and layout of websites or web pages, working with colleagues or clients to meet their requirements.The job involves understanding both graphic design and computer programming. Once a website is created, a designer helps with maintenance and additions to the website. They work with development teams or managers for keeping the site up-to-date and prioritizing needs, among other tasks.
 
Average salary: - 2.3 – 2.5 lakhs per annum
 

Software Developer

Software Developers implement software solutions by building programs, applications, and websites. They write and test codes, often using development tools. Some develop applications that allow people to do specific tasks on a computer or another device. Others develop underlying systems that run the devices or that control networks.
 
Average salary: - 4 – 4.5 lakhs per annum
 
Application Analyst
An Application Analyst is responsible for overseeing practices and processes to ensure integrity, safety, and availability of all data and applications as part of the organization’s information system. They ensure that the processes needed for a business to function and succeed are running smoothly. They act as the technical point of contact to fix application and systems-based issues, usually on an immediate basis.
 
Average salary: - 4.2 – 4.5 lakhs per annum
 

Systems Analyst

Systems Analysts examine existing IT systems and write the requirement for new ones. They analyze hardware, software, and wider IT systems for the client or employer and also figure out the new requirements. They are also responsible for user training and feedback. Travel is a key feature of the job as the majority of work is undertaken at the client’s premises.
 
Average salary: - 6 – 6.5 lakhs per annum
 
Pursuing a career in the Information Technology sector always makes students a bit skeptic about its scope and career prospects. But the fact that IT is still a field that boasts a healthy growth rate, graduates from B.sc in ITM will have no trouble in landing a decent job as long as they are skilled in those areas. IT revolution was strong before a decade and will still remain strong for the upcoming years.
