Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University has topped among all the private universities. It has seven campuses spread across India, in Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Kochi, Mysuru, Amritapuri, Amaravati. It was established in the year 1994 and in the year 2003 it became the youngest Deemed-to-be University. The University has emerged as one of the fastest-growing institutions of higher studies reflecting several achievements. The university carries a huge population of over 12,000 and a faculty strength of almost 1500. There are 120+ programs offered by the university.

Introduction of New Courses:
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham launched six online degree programs under the ‘Amrita Ahead’ brand in UG and PG level courses. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has launched online management and computer application degree programs. Looking at this pandemic situation of COVID-19, it is necessary to study online to diminish the education loss. As an initiative, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is launching BBA, MBA, BCA, MCA, and MCA in artificial intelligence & cybersecurity in online mode. Adding to these UGC granted degree programs, a six-week certificate program on Mahabharata is also offered under “Amrita AHEAD”. All these programs are fully recognized by the UGC and equivalent to the on-campus degree of Amrita University.
It is also notified that students will receive placement support from the career assistance cell of the university. The University Grants Commission (UGC) approved and also set some guidelines for online degrees. During the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic era, the Commission relaxed the norms in 2020 and made it easy to offer these courses.

The vice-chancellor of the university, P Venkat Rangan, while launching the programs said that “The Amrita AHEAD online programs will help to solve the problem of equity and accessibility in higher education. Students can study from the comfort of their homes at their own pace in a world-class learning environment that includes faculty from India and abroad. The online degrees are equivalent to our on-campus degrees, offering the same academic and career opportunities to our online students as available to students studying at our physical campus.” Again the Dean of Post-Graduate Programmes Krishnashree Achuthan added to his speech on the inauguration of online courses that, “A unique feature of Amrita Ahead degrees is semester-long internships even at the undergraduate level to make the learning of students relevant to the industry. They can also pursue dual degrees with some of the best international universities and benefit from international exchange and placement opportunities through our more than 200 global affiliations.”
