2- The rank of the candidates will decide his or her admission to the branches of engineering at its two campuses located at Chennai and Vellore. Candidates have to find themselves in the specified VITEEE cut off the range to be able to secure admission.

3- Every year nearly 2 lakh candidates register for the VIT engineering entrance exam for the admission to more than 5,000 seats available in 14 UG engineering streams (B.Tech) in Chennai and Vellore campus of VIT University.

4-The VIT University uses the Equating Method to predict the ranks of the candidates in VITEEE. VIT will calculate the percentile rank of the aspirant on the basis of his or her performance in the exam

Calculation of VITEEE Cut off

1- An equating method is used to calculate the rank of the aspirant.

2- The candidates securing equal percentile in the different test forms will be considered the same rank.

3- The score obtained in different slots with the same percentile are considered of the same rank.

4- VITEEE Cut off won’t be applicable for the qualifying marks which decide the clearing of the exam.

5- VIT forms a panel for the admission and counseling of students. This expert panel decides VITEEE cut off taking various factors into consideration such as the number of received applications, the number of students actually appeared in the exam, the number of seats which are available for a particular course and the average performance of the candidates in the entrance exam.
