Bringing much releif to the students as well as parents and also putting end to the speculation the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has released an alternative academic calendar for secondary level, Classes 9 and 10.
The new calendar is prepared by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). With lockdown in the country, schools have increasingly opted to teach students through online classes. One of the suggested assignments for Class 10 economics students is ‘socio-economic impact of the pandemic COVID19′.
Speaking on the occasion the Minister said that this calendar provides guidelines to teachers on the use of various technological tools and social media tools available for imparting education. However, it has taken into account, the varying levels of access to such tools-Mobile, Radio, Television, SMS and various social media, according to an official statement.
Pokhriyal further said that the fact that many of us may not have internet facility in the mobile, or may not be able to use different social media tools- such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, Google, etc., the calendar guides teachers to further guide parents and students through SMS on mobile phones or through voice call.
The Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) has introduced "Applied Mathematics' as anew academic elective from the current academic year 2020-2021 for class XI. The Approach of Applied Mathematics subject will be practical, and the students are expected to learn through practical applications of Mathematics in different disciplines.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a national level board of education in India for public and private schools, controlled and managed by Union Government of India. CBSE has asked all schools affiliated to follow only the NCERT curriculum. There are approximately 20,299 schools in India and 220 schools in 28 foreign countries affiliated to the CBSE.

According to Wikipedia Applied mathematics is the application of mathematical methods by different fields such as science, engineering, business, computer science, and industry.
