University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), established in 2003, through UPES Act, 2003 of the State Legislature of Uttarakhand. It is recognized by UGC under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

UPES is Asia’s first core sector university and is the first Indian institution to offer 79 graduate and postgraduate programs across 14 core sectors like oil and gas, power, infrastructure, information technology, transportation, electronics, high technology, design, business, planning and architecture, public policy and legal studies.

UPES conducts entrance exams for admission in MBA, M.Des, M.Tech, B.Tech, B.Des and LLB courses

MBA  UPESMET

Candidates with minimum 50% marks in class 10th and 12th and in graduation can seek admission to a UPES – MBA programs by taking the UPES Management Entrance Test.

The UPESMET will be an online test.

Up to 20% seats shall be filled through Board Merit/ CLAT/ L-SAT India Category. In case, any seat remaining vacant UPES has the right to fill such seats through UPES Entrance Exam.

Non-Examination Pathway - LAW Programs through Board Merit/CLAT Merit/LSAT India Merit

CLAT Merit/LSAT India Merit:

For BA LLB (Hons.)/ BBA LLB (Hons.)/ B.Com, LLB (Hons)- Candidates with minimum 50% Marks in Higher & Senior Secondary (10th & 12th) and CLAT ranking up to 10000/ L-SAT India score of 60 percentile or above will be exempted from UPES Law Studies Aptitude test and will be invited directly for GD and Interview.

For B. Tech+ LLB (Hons.) Candidates with minimum 60% Marks in Higher & Senior Secondary (10th & 12th), minimum 60% Marks in PCM at Senior Secondary Level (12th) and CLAT ranking up to 10000/ L-SAT India score of 60 percentile or above will be exempted from UPES-EAT and admissions through Merit Ranking.

Board Merit:

For BA LLB (Hons.)/ BBA LLB (Hons.)/B.Com LLB (Hons)- Candidates with 85% marks in 10th and 12th best of five subjects (English as one of the compulsory paper) are exempted from UPES Law Studies Aptitude Test (UL-SAT) and will be invited directly for GD and Interview.

For B.Tech+ LLB (Hons.) Candidates with minimum 80% marks in 10th, 12th and 12th PCM (Physics, Chemistry &Maths) are exempted from UPES-EAT and admissions will be through Merit Ranking.

Age Criteria

Only candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 1, 1996, are eligible to apply for admission. Date of Birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate only will be taken as authentic.

Candidates placed in the compartment are not eligible for admission to any program of study in the University

LLM

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum 50 % Marks at Higher & Secondary Level (10th & 12th) and LLB Degree

Master of Design (M.Des)

M.Des with specialization in Transportation Design/ Industrial Design/ Interaction Design

a) Min of 50% Marks at Higher & Senior Secondary Level (10th& 12th )

b) B.Des/B.Tech/BE in any discipline /B.Arch/BFA 4 years with Minimum 50% Marks

c) Valid CEED 2017 or 2018 score valid UPES Designs Aptitude Test ( UPES-DAT) score followed by Personal Interview and presentation on the work Portfolio

CEED 2018 Criteria

Qualifying CEED 2018 score 40.5 and above are exempted from UPESDAT test and invited for Portfolio Presentation and Personal Interview directly.

Candidates not meeting these criteria, can register for UPESDAT Online test schedule on 27 April 2018.

Candidates having valid CEED 2017 or 2018 score will be exempted from UPESDAT examination and will be invited directly for Personal Interview and presentation on the work portfolio
