Scope of Mass Communication in Film Industry

Mass communication is the process of conveying and exchanging information through mass media to large sets of the population that focuses to provide students with the relevant skills or knowledge required in the field of mass communication. Usually, it is understood for relating to different forms of media as these technologies are used for the spreading of information of which film industry is one of them.

Through mass communication, the information that what we want to express can be transmitted quickly to many people who generally stay far away from the sources of information. Mass communication is practiced on multiple mediums, where the film industry plays a huge role with tons of opportunities. Mass Communication course Eligibility:

The basic eligibility criteria for the mass communication courses vary from college to college with a little modification. Candidates are required to fulfill the common eligibility criteria to get admission into the mass communication are mentioned below:

  • Candidates must have passed in 10+2 from any subjects from any recognized university/ board.
  • They should have scored at least 40% to 50% marks in class 10+2 in order to be eligible for the undergraduate mass communication degree courses.

Scope of mass communication in the Film Industry:

There are different kinds of career opportunities in the field of mass communication that will be available to the graduates based on their stream of specialization & interests as the course takes up the restrictions of entering into the print & electronic media and film industry is one of them that plays a key role.

  • Film Industry as one such platform of mass communication that has a great impact on societies in many ways. It is a platform of transferring information or meanings through visual receptors where a cognitive relationship exists between a filmmaker and a viewer, and mass communication is the bridge between them. 
  • Film industry is one of the most discovering and an expensive industry in mass communication and that is why the film industry has grown rapidly for the last few years and has brought about a lot of opportunities or scopes in the field of mass communication.
  • Usually, a career in mass communication has a diversified scope for career prospects where someone needs to have creativity, a way with words, and excellent communication skills and no place is better than the film industry as you will be required to explain to a large number of people.
  • Because of mass communication, film industry jobs are opening up and the opportunities are aplenty for professionals who are trained extensively in various roles that mass communication has to offer, and especially in India, the scope of this field is pretty good.
