The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was approved by the MHRD and launched by Honourable Minister of Human Resource Development on 29th September 2015.
List of Top Institutes in different fields have been released by The Ministry. The announcement for the NIRF ranking was done on the 11th of June 2020. The Ministry had released lists of various top institutes in different fields for students to analyze their performance before taking admission. This is the fifth time for the NIRF Rankings to take place. NIRF ranking is done in order to ease the students to decide while taking admission in various colleges. In order to appear for the NIRF ranking list, the institutes have to apply for the evaluation process conducted by the MHRD through NIRF. This year IIM Ahmedabad has bagged the first rank in the NIRF management rankings 2020.

Every year the ranking is done by the month of April.
