New courses announced by Gujarat University

Gujarat University has come up with four new courses under the integrated five-year program at the university. The new courses that have been introduced are:

  • MSc in Actuarial Sciences
  • MSc in Data Sciences
  • MSc in Applied Geology
  • MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

Three courses that have been introduced will be handled by the Mathematics department from the School of Sciences. Only the Applied Geology course will not be handled by the Mathematics Department. Listed below are the eligibility, duration, admission structure, and fees of the courses. 

MSc in Actuarial Sciences

Eligibility

  • Students need to have passed their 10+2 exam in Science or Commerce stream. They need to have these subjects at the 10+2 level namely Mathematics/ Accountancy/Physics/ Statistics/ Chemistry/ Biology. 

Duration

  • Spread over ten semesters, this is a five-year integrated course for the students. 

Admission

  • The admission will be held on the basis of the merit of the students. There are sixty seats in this program.

MSc in Data Sciences

Eligibility

  • Students who have completed their 10+2 board exam in Science or Commerce stream can apply to this course. They need to have these subjects at the 10+2 level namely Mathematics/ Accountancy/Physics/ Statistics/ Chemistry/ Biology.

Duration 

  • The course is spread over ten semesters and it is a five-year integrated course for the students.

Admission 

  • After selecting the course from the online portal, the admission will be made on the basis of the merit of the students. There are sixty seats in this course.

MSc in Geology

Eligibility 

  • The candidate must have completed their bachelor's degree in Geology or equivalent subject from a recognized Indian university.

Duration

  • The postgraduate course duration is for two years.

Admission

  • The admission to the course is on the basis of the merit list published by the university. There are thirty seats in this postgraduate course at Gujarat University.

MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

Eligibility

  • Students who have completed their 10+2 board exam in Commerce or Science stream can apply to this course. They need to have studied these subjects at the 10+2 level- Mathematics/ Accountancy/Physics/ Statistics/ Chemistry/ Biology.

Duration

  • The course is of five years and spread over ten semesters. The students can leave the course after three years with a B.Sc Hons Degree in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. 

Admission

  • The admission to the course will be strictly on the basis of the merit of the students. The course has sixty seats. 

Course fees

  • MSc in Geology- Rs 35, 900 per semester
  • MSc in Actuarial Sciences- Rs 37,600 per semester
  • MSc in Data Sciences- Rs 37,600 per semester
  • MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning- Rs 37,600 per semester
