NEST 2021 Cut-off
Department of Atomic Energy- Mumbai University (CEBS-DAE-UM), National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, and Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences will release the cut-off for NEST 2021 after 2-3 weeks of completion of the exam. Conducting authorities of the exam will release the sectional and the overall cutoff margin. The sectional cut-off is known as Section-wise Minimum Admissible Score (SMAS) whereas the overall cutoff is regarded as Minimum Admissible Percentile (MAP). Candidates who qualify in the sectional and overall cutoff will be shortlisted in the merit list of either NISER or CEBS-DAE-UM.
Factors Affecting NEST Cut-off:
- Number of students that have appeared in the exam.
- Number of seats available for admission.
- The difficulty level of the exam.
- Previous year cut-off margin.
Section-wise Minimum Admissible Score (SAMS)/Section Cut-off Details:
- SAMS numerical value is different for each given section.
- In each section, 20% of the average of 100 best scores in the section will be the SMAS (Sectional Cut-off).
- For OBC category SAMS will be 90% of the General category and for Divyangjan/SC/ST it is 50% of the General category.
- The overall score is the sum of the Best 3 Sectional marks and General Section.
