This has happened due to the new opportunities that have been coming up from co-working environments where there is a need for people to help in different sections like content, foreign language, social metrics, and graphical illustration and so on. This has led to the demand for people from Humanities background. We have compiled a list of the ten most popular jobs that Humanities majors can secure after finishing their studies.

Sociologist

This involves studying social groups, their cultures and institutions. When sociologists conduct research on a particular group, it means they are conducting in-depth analysis of the group’s economic, political or religious insights. The research done by a sociologist often leads to the formation of social policies. In this discipline, focus is given on qualitative and quantitative analysis. As a result, after completing a degree in Sociology, one can also become a faculty or work at a government agency or non-profit agency too.

Economist

This is one of the popular jobs that a Humanities major can get that gives them compensation at par with professions like law, medicine, finance or technology. Graduates who have passed their undergraduate degree in this subject will find that they have good job options in the market. They can work in corporate, government, accounting, finance and other industries. The graduate degree holders in this field get the same hiring opportunities as an MBA graduate will get. Those who have completed their PhD in the field are given much preference in the insurance and legal industries. 

Archaeologist

Archaeologists have unique skill sets that make them high-demand professionals. The scientific testing of the different sites is essential for developing energy projects or for substantiating an archaeological site. The forensic archaeologists conduct recovery, testing and cataloguing of the different artifacts for storage or transportation purposes. The archaeologists who work for a museum are engaged in reconstructing the history of people.

Psychologist

Psychologists are employed as faculty or as researchers who are engaged in the study of behavioral patterns, by conducting tests and other procedures. The professionals who desire to work as licensed counselors or as clinical or research psychologists need to have completed their graduation in this subject.

Public relations specialist

These professionals have the job of maintaining the brand identity of a celebrity or other clients. They work on behalf of an organization or a public figure and co-ordinates with the journalists to increase the visibility of communications strategy. They promote the image of the client by different marketing methods and campaigns. 

Human resources specialists

The performance of an organization depends on human assets. A degree in Human Resources prepares an individual for assuming leadership in a company. They work in coordination with the executive management. They are responsible for developing the training plan, policies development, devising compensation and benefit plans and so on. 

Graphic designer

These individuals are involved with the design, analysis and production of the different visual images required for advertising, marketing and other jobs. They use different software applications to make promotional materials. The animation, texts, prints, illustration developed by these artists is of great value to a company. 

Writer

The writers work in preparing manuscripts, books, articles, stories, content for radio or television and so on. Some of them work as reporters or even create content for advertisements, websites and other media. Technical writers are much in demand in recent times.

Social worker

They are engaged in locating resources to the individuals or groups of people and helping them out of their problems. They also provide assistance programs, counseling, and substance abuse treatment to the clients. One can start a career in this field with a Bachelor’s degree. However, having a Master’s degree helps in getting managerial roles.

Teacher

To start a professional career as a teacher, one must have an education in arts, sciences or social sciences. Training are provided to the teachers for passing the different subject matter.
