HRD Minister Pokhriyal informed answering a query that for the new academic year to begin, a decision has been taken to conduct the pending exams including JEE Main and NEET within July and start off the new academic session by August 2020. Answering the query about JEE Main dates HRD Minister announced, JEE Main to be held in July, 2020, JEE Main 2020 would be now conducted from July 18 to July 23. The JEE Advanced 2020 examination would be conducted in the month of August and ending all speculation Minister pokhriyal declared NEET Exam to be held on July 26
He also informed that UGC has formed a taskforce which will be dealing with all the queries of students. A website is being created with all the common queries and students can consult the same for further queries.
Don't pressurise children, HRD Minister tells parents
Since students are stuck at home during lockdown and certain exams are still left, a student complained that she was facing a lot of pressure from her parents pressurising her to study all day.
Ramesh Pokhriyal advised the parents to not pressurise their children and let them have a free mind as well along with studies.
Earlier, the minister had announced that these exams will be held in May-end, however, with lockdown being extended till May 17, the exams are expected to be postponed further. Over 9 lakh students have registered to appear for JEE Main and over 15.93 lakh have applied for NEET 2020, as per the National Testing Agency (NTA) – the exam conducting body.
He is also likely to deliberate on whether or not the syllabus for the upcoming academic session will be reduced. This was among one of the suggestions raised by the Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia in the meeting of state education ministers with the Union HRD minister

“For students hailing from rural areas, we understand that network connectivity issues can arise. For them, we are making efforts to reach them. We are adding both school and college courses on SWAYAM portal and SWYAM Prabha – a television or DTH initiative can telecast educational content on DD, Tata Sky, Airtel TV and other platforms,” the minister said.

What Next for NEET and JEE Main?
Next and major upcoming event is the release of NEET and JEE Main admit card, which is the hall ticket for candidates for entry to the examination centre. Candidates must visit the official website of NTA (nta.ac.in), NEET (ntaneet.nic.in), JEE Main(jeemain.nic.in) regularly for all exam related events.
