After reviewing and analyzing many experimental and significant proposals in the field of education, the Government took a major move to set up National Testing Agency (NTA) in a hope of increasing efficiency and transparency in the country’s educational system. NTA is a statutory body, which has been approved by the Union Cabinet for conducting entrance examinations of JEE, NEET, CTET, UGC NET, etc. from the end of 2018 onwards. To date, these exams were conducted by The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

NEET is the only national-level medical entrance exam. It is organized for providing admission in all Indian Medical colleges offering the courses in MBBS, BDS & Ayush.
