Kaling Institute of Industrial Training or popularly known as KIIT has become the first Indian University to achieve the “Five Stars Rating” from the prestigious QS Star Ratings System. KIIT is a Deemed to be University serving to the education system since 1992 which is located in Bhubaneswar Odisha.
The final results of the QS star rating were published on 27th April 2021. The QS Intelligence Unit, a division of QS Quacquarelli Symonds Ltd, has given the university a Five Star which is the maximum achievable point, looking at the rigorous and independent data collection and analysis of performance metrics in a range of indicators across eight categories. This rating will be valid for the next three years. The rating exercise evaluated the university as per the pre-established global benchmarks of excellence across eight categories such as Teaching, Employability, Academic Development, Internationalization, Online Learning, Innovation, Inclusiveness, and Computer Science & Engineering, specialist criteria. KIIT has secured a perfect five in four categories and four in the remaining categories, which gives a five-star on average.
KIIT has also achieved 201+ global ranks in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings for 2021. This is such an honor for the university by achieving back-to-back impressive positions in two leading global university ranking and rating exercises. It will definitely bring a boost to the international position of KIIT Deemed to be University. Adding to these KIIT has also been conferred with the Institution of Eminence tag by the Govt. of India and also the winner of ‘Awards Asia 2020’ in the category 'Workplace of the Year’ by the Times Higher Education.
The founder of KIIT Deemed to be University shared his happiness in his tweet and said, “KIIT has been rated as a Five Stars Institution on the basis of its excellence and diversity by the QS Stars rating system operated by the QS Intelligence Unit, the independent compiler of the QS World University Rankings since 2004. We resolve to continue to do our best”.
