Guidelines And Tips For Your IICD Entrance

Indian Institute of Crafts & Design, Jaipur, aims to the evolution of the crafts and artisans into the contemporary social and the economic context world. The courses offered here are completely aligned to the field of crafts and design, and the courses are undergraduate and postgraduate. The graduation courses are focused to target the student for which he can grow as sensitive towards art and culture, shape themselves towards creative designers. The programs open the doors of opportunities for the aspirant towards Indian culture and society as a global citizen.


 
The candidates preparing for IICD entrance test consists of three phases:-

1- General Awareness, Creativity And Perception Test (which is of 35% of selection)

2- Material, Color & Conceptual Test (which compromises 45% of selection)

3- Personal Interview (20% of the selection process)
 

IICD Assessment

There are two parts for the assessment for Indian Institute Crafts and Design, as Part-A and Part-B respectively.  
 

Part-A:

This part covers subjects like General Awareness, Creativity, and Perception Test. This part will analyze the students' general awareness, the visualization, estimation of the size and the respective proportion of the materials, etc.
 

Part-B:

This part includes the Material, Color, and Conceptual Test. The assessment also includes a final Personal Interview. This challenges the candidate's abilities. One must be smart enough to use the materials provided, also being strong in the conceptualization and the realization of the three-dimensional format.

The other skills are based on planning and strategy. It is expected from each candidate, multiple solutions for the given task, with the respective descriptions. The final interview rounds test the candidate is checked for the communication skills, his/her general awareness on the relevant topics of crafts, and design. Other factors for the interview round also include IQ, personal achievements, and his/her extracurricular activities.
 

Few tips for the aspirants which could boost the confidence and built the chances for  IICD entrance are as follows:

1- IICD exam is everything about assessing the art inside. The creativity of inside beside evaluating the thinking potential towards craft development.

2- Daily updates can help to cultivate potential and also will help to develop a good level of general knowledge and the awareness on the contemporary issues, which is based through the newspaper editorials.

3- Staying calm with rising waves of ideas will help the candidate during the Perception Test, and also to the other rounds of the selection process. This will help the Part-B and for the interview.

4- The inclination towards the crafts and design, its learning and exploring new applications which are required to score better in the examination.

5- IICD targets to the evolution for the creativity of every craftsman and the artisans and the respective courses are designed to shape the world of these creative men.
