Biochemical Engineering is a science branch concerned with the research, design and development of unit processes containing biological organisms or substances. It is studied in chemical engineering, biochemistry and cell biology. The goal of this division is to prepare students in science and technology, biochemical engineering, bacterial and enzyme systems. This would involve an understanding of the biological or physiological mechanisms of these processes.

Furthermore, Biochemical Engineering discusses the kinetic model of development, death and metabolism, agitation, oxidation, transport phenomena and technology of enzymes.
