Students at
IIT Kharagpur can take the financial assistance from the institute and can return it back to the institute once they are capable of. Top
JEE Advanced scorers can apply for the “
Learn-Earn-Return” scholarship which gives the recipient of Rs 10,000 per month for four years. However, the students need to maintain a CGPA of 9 throughout and take the pledge to give back the same to the Institute once they are capable of.
Types of Financial Assistance
IIT Kharagpur, in fact, provides the students with need-based financial assistance.
For all the meritorious students whose annual family income is less than Rs 6lakh, there is tuition waiver or can be named as the monthly scholarship, even free for the mess facility, free hostel and the pocket allowance for the underprivileged for the same.
The financial aid is also not denied with those who join from the upper-middle-class families. The Tower Research Capital India Scholarship, for instance, does not take into account the economic criteria at all. Endowment scholarships such as the Ritesh Ranjan Memorial Scholarship, have been relaxed the cut-off limit for the merit-cum-means scholarships.
Since the Institute believes in the all-round development of the students, there are also scholarships- such as the Sushma Mukhija Memorial Scholarship or the Vinod Gupta Leadership scholarship that lend to take into the account students’ participation in the sports and the extra-curricular activities.
