Dr. DY Patil University, Pune was established in 1956 under Section 3 and later declared as a deemed-to-be-university by the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, on the advice of the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 2003. It has 9 sister institutions in the field of medicine, dentistry, nursing, management, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, physiotherapy, optometry, biotechnology, and some Distance Learning courses. All the programs offered in this university are recognized by respective councils like MCI/DCI/INC/CCIM/CCH/AICTE/UGC, etc. The university is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). It has also got the approval of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU).

Placement:
The placement cell of the Dr. DY Patil University, Pune is the most active placement cell. It trains the students and makes them ready for the corporate world and coordinates with the recruiters and the students to organize a hassle-free placement drive. In this first step, an invitation is sent to a group of companies/organizations along with relevant information for conducting the placement process at the university campus. Then, a Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) is scheduled to make the students understand the company mission. Then the recruiting companies take tests or interviews as per their requirement and select the candidates on the basis of their performance in the written test followed by the interview round.
