Radiology is also known as diagnostic imaging, it is a series of different tests that take images of various parts of the body.

Radiologist technologists are the health care professionals who perform diagnostic imaging procedures, such as X-ray examinations, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans and computed tomography (CT) scans. They are responsible for accurately positioning patients and ensuring that a quality diagnostic image is produced also they work very closely with radiologists, the physicians who interpret medical images to either diagnose or rule out disease or injury.Some of them specialize in specific techniques such as cardiovascular-interventional radiography, mammography or sonography.

 

 

How to become a radiologist:

  • The basic essential steps to becoming a radiologist are earning an undergraduate degree and earning a medical degree
  • Now, a physician must have completed four years of a radiology residency to become a radiologist.
  • State license is very important for radiologists. The license will be provided after the two-part examination covering medicine, anatomy, imaging modalities and physics.

 

Skills required to become a good radiologist:

  • One has to completely understand the medical and human anatomy that relates human health.
  • Strong technical skills are required as they have to work on the computer.
  • Excellent vision and analytical skills are required.
  • One must have an interest and a solid background in Biology, Physiology and Anatomy.

A Radiology Technician works with a Radiologist to diagnose and treat patients using diagnostic imaging examinations like X-rays, CT scans, and MRI scans. The Radiology Technician will prepare patients and equipment for radiology procedures, perform the tests, and maintain the equipment. 4-5 lakhs

Radiology Assistant

They help radiologists manage and assess patients by performing radiologic procedures. they need to follow detailed instructions from physicians, prepare patients for procedures, implement proper safety protocol and operate computerized equipment. They are also responsible for calibrating and maintaining medical radiologic equipment.  2-3 lakhs
Radiologist Radiologists are medical professionals that are specialists in the field of medical imaging. Radiologists work with medical imaging technology in order to diagnose and treat diseases and injuries 18 lakhs

Radiology Technologist/Radiographer

Radiologic technologists use diagnostic imaging equipment to help physicians identify illnesses and injuries. They may use x-ray equipment, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, or mammography to perform X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, or mammograms 4-5 Lakhs

Radiology Nurse

A radiology nurse also referred to as a medical imaging nurse, is a nursing professional that cares for patients that must undergo diagnostic imaging procedures and radiation therapy. Common diagnostic imaging tests include x-rays, computed tomography scans (CT scans), magnetic resonance imaging scans (MRIs), and ultrasounds. 8-9 Lakhs

Ultrasound Technician / Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

An ultrasound technician helps doctors and other health professionals diagnose patients' ailments. He or she operates special equipment that uses high-frequency sound waves to record images of internal organs. 5-6 Lakhs

MRI Technician

MRI technicians, also commonly referred to as MRI technologists, are professionals who operate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanning machines. They use this technology to capture images of patient's bodies in order for physicians to diagnose medical problems. 3-4 lakhs
CT Tech / CAT Scan Technologist / CT Scan Technologist CT Technologists take diagnostic images of patients' internal structures using computerized tomography equipment. They ensure that patients are correctly positioned and closely monitored during CT scans.
