NIRF Ranking Framework has been devised for ranking the various universities in India. This helps one to understand the quality of education they provide to the students, the type of research facilities available and so on. This process begins with a registration by the universities who want to take part in the annual ranking by the MHRD. Participating in this NIRF Ranking process is voluntary and nothing is mandatory. This is recognised and well accepted in India and also in abroad.
NIRF 2020 Methodology and Parameters
Five major parameters are taken into consideration when compiling the NIRF 2020 ranking. They are teaching, perception, learning and resources, research and professional practice, outreach and inclusivity and graduation outcomes. There are sub-parameters under these heads and they are also considered while assigning the ranks to the universities.
