A career in the medical field is very popular among the students. However, before pursuing a career in this field, the students will have to sit for the medical entrance exams to get enrolled in the different medical institutes in the country. We have compiled a list of the top ten medical entrances.
NEET PG
National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Post Graduate is a national level medical entrance test. To apply for this test, one will have to apply online. The scores in this exam are accepted by all the renowned colleges and universities in India. The exam will take place on 18th April. The result will be out by 31st May.
The total number of questions has been reduced to 200 from 300 questions in 2020. The maximum marks have been reduced to 800 from 1200. The test will be conducted online and a student will have to answer 300 objective type questions on 15 topics. The time duration for the exam is three hours and thirty minutes. A candidate will get four marks for every correct answer and a negative marking of one mark for every incorrect answer.
BVP CET
This university level exam is conducted by Bharati Vidyapeeth University for enrolling students to Medical, Engineering, Management, Nursing and other courses. The examination is held separately for the different courses. The form was released in the online mode and the candidates had to fill the form to sit for the exam. The first phase of the test will be held on 20th June and the second phase will be held on 27th June.
The exam will be a computer based exam and the qualified candidates will be shortlisted for counselling. The duration of the exam is three hours and the exam is held in the offline mode. There is no negative marking in the test.
NEET SS
National Eligibility Entrance Test Super Speciality is a national level entrance test that is held by the National Board of Examination for admitting students into DM/ M. Ch courses. The counselling will start after the entrance exam is conducted. The exam consists of 100 questions and the exam will be conducted online. The first exam will be of 1 hour and 45 minutes duration while the super specialty part is 3 hours and 30 minutes. A student will get four marks for correct answer and one mark will be deducted for incorrect answer. The part A will carry 40 percent of the total marks while part B will carry 60 percent of the total marks in the exam.
FMGE
Foreign Graduates Medical Examination is a exam that is organized by National Board of Examinations for determining the eligibility of the candidates practising medicine in the country. The exam will be held on 18th June 2021. Any Indian citizen or an overseas citizen of India who has completed a primary medical degree and wants to practise medicine in the country needs to appear in this exam. After passing this exam, the candidates will be able to register with the Medical Council of India or the State Medical Council.
The exam is held twice every year- June and December. There are two sections to the exam paper. The total duration of the exam is five hours. Each segment is of two and a half hours duration. The exam is conducted online and three hundred multiple choice questions are asked. One need to score fifty percent marks to qualify.
AIIMS M. Sc Nursing
This is a national level test that is organized every year by AIIMS New Delhi. The test is taken by the candidates to get admission in the different nursing courses at the postgraduate level offered at the AIIMS colleges. The exam will take place on 5th June, 2021.
The mode of the examination is the online mode. The total number of questions is ninety and the duration of the exam in ninety minutes. The questions are in the multiple choice format. A candidate will get one mark for a correct answer and one mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. No marks will be given or deducted from the students for unattempted questions.
AIAPGET
All India Ayush Post Graduate Entrance Test is a national level test that is organized by the National Testing Agency. This is held on behalf of the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. This is held to provide the students to get admissions in the different postgraduate courses in Ayurveda, Unani, Homeopathy and Siddha.
The exam is conducted online and held once annually. The languages used in the exam are Hindi, English, Tamil and Urdu. The total number of questions in the exam is hundred. The time duration in the exam is ninety minutes and multiple choice questions are asked in the exam. A candidate will get one mark for every correct answer and 0.25 marks will be deducted for incorrect answer.
