CV Raman College of Engineering in Bhubaneswar(CVRCE), Odisha, has been granted the status of a university by the state government. As per the Act, the university will be multi-disciplinary, self-financing and non-affiliating which means it won’t have affiliated colleges. The university will not demand any financial grant or assistance from the state government.
Founder-cum-president of CV Raman Global University Sanjib Kumar Rout at a press conference here on Tuesday evening expressed his gratitude to the Governor and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for granting permission to establish the university.
The university will offer different programmes in engineering and humanities with the future skills, Rout said.
Following the announcement, Sanjib Kumar Rout, founder of the university, wrote on social media: “I am really honoured to inform you all that your college has now become C. V. Raman Global University. From the core of my heart, I would like to thank you all for the support you have extended to this institute since its inception. I sincerely look forward to your continuous support and cooperation to make this university truly global.”
The university will have to follow the reservation policy of the state for admission and at least 50 percent of its intake will be through the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) counselling. CV Raman Global University will also abide by the fee regulations of the Odisha Government.
The university will start MBA programmes in innovation, entrepreneurship and venture development along with specialized MBA in aviation revenue management analyst and other emerging areas,” he added.
The university plans to take in students from foreign countries and all over India through All India Entrance Examination.
