ABOUT NEET 2021:

What after NEET 2021 for MBBS / BDS admissions?

2- After the results of NEET 2021, the counseling process for MBBS/BDS admissions will begin. The candidates who have scored the minimum of the required qualifying percentile in the NEET 2021 will be able to participle in the counseling process and is to be considered for the admissions.

3- To qualify for the NEET 2021, one will need to score at least the 50th percentile (40th percentile for the SC/ST/OBC). Last year of the NEET qualifying score was 119 marks (out of the 720 ).

1- Qualifying for the exam (by scoring the NEET cutoff).

2-Apply for the counseling process. 

3- Participate in the counseling and secure admission for the relevant candidate.

Know what are the Top MBBS colleges with Low Fee Structure to Apply in

 

All India Quota (AQI) Seats2021:

All the government medical and the relevant dental colleges in India, have to share the 15% of their MBBS/BDS seats to the NEET AQI scheme. The candidates who can apply for NEET 2021.  To apply for AQI counseling the candidates must fill the applications from the AQI counseling when is released by the Directorate General of Health Service (DGHS) on the behalf of Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). 

 

Seats at Deemed and Central Universities

The deemed and the central universities as well, similar to AQI where the students can apply who have qualified for NEET 2021. The Central Universities include the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and Banaras Hindu University (BHU).
DGHS is the counseling authority for the Deemed and the Central Universities as well, and the similar to the AQI. The NEET 2021 Deemed and of the Central, Universities counseling would begin from the second week of June,  To apply for the MBBS/BDS seats in the same, a separate applications form for Deemed and of the Central Universities counseling is released.

 

State Government Colleges

Most of the candidates thinking over the NEET are free to choose for the states of the choice. The 85% seats remain with the government medical and the dental colleges after surrendering 15% of the seats n the AQI under some state quota. These seats are generally for the candidates who belong to these respective seats. The candidates can apply for the state quota seats in their respective state government colleges.

 

Private Colleges Seats

The same state who conduct the counselling authorities for the state quota seats conducting the counseling for private colleges as well. While some of the states have already begun their applications process, where most of them would also release the NEET 2021 State counseling applications after NEET is declared.

 

Counseling Procedure

The key after the NEET Process which the candidates are required to go through is undoubtedly the counseling procedure. After which the NEET result, once the qualified candidate fills the right application forms for the counseling, all of the other procedural necessities automatically fall into the place with regular updates from the counseling authorities.

 

AIQ seat Counselling

The DGHS conducts two rounds of counseling for the 15% AQI MBBS/BDS seats, after which the second round gets over, the remaining seats (if any) are transferred back to the states. The last year of the approximately 3,521 MBBS seats in 159 medical colleges and 299 BDS Seats in 24 of the dental colleges were available under the 15% of All India Quota.

 

Deemed/Central Universities Counselling 

The DGHS conducts two of the rounds for the counseling and Central Universities, followed by a mop-up round.AFMC and IP Wards for ESIC COunselling: Candidates who are willing and are eligible for these seats must register for them through the DGHS portal itself.

 

State Quota Counselling

The respective state counseling authorities also conduct counseling for the 85% state quota seats in their states. These seats are generally reserved for the candidates holding for the domicile of the states, the counselling for the relevant state quota seats which is conducted in the two to the three rounds followed by the Mop-Up round.
Private College Counselling: The same counselling authority is also responsible for conducting the counselling for the state quota seats which will be responsible for conducting the counselling for the MBBS/BDS seats into the state private colleges.  The counselling might be here conducted in the three to the four rounds followed by the mop-up round, depending over the relevant vacancies.

After Registration Process, Documents Required

Candidates wondering after the NEET entrances, they should note that as long one applies for any of the counselling processes will release their merit lists giving the state ranks to the eligible candidates out of these. Some of the state counselling authorities also might even release the two sets of the NEET merit lists, as one for the government and one for the private medical colleges. During which the respective counselling, following some of the basic documents which would be required to be carried. These include :

1- NEET Admit Card

2- NEET Rank Letter

3- Class 10 or 12 Certificate and the Marksheet

4- ID Proof

5- Domicile Proof (only for the state quota seats)

 

What if you aren't able to secure an MBBS seat in NEET 2021?

As here, very beautifully shared by Dr Sanjay Gogoi, Director of Fortis Memorial Research Institute, “ It takes just one of the MBBS seat to sail up the ship into the direction of becoming a doctor. All of you may not be able to crack NEET for the first time but do not give up hope. Keep trying, work harder. Remember you just need one MBBS seat and there are 60,000 and more in the country. “
If one isn't can secure the desired MBBS seat, one can always appear for NEET since there are no caps on the number of attempts in the NEET anymore. Besides this, the candidates should also remember that the NEET 2021, score would not only be used for the allocation of admissions to the MBBS seats, but also to several other countries which include the BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BYMS, BSMS, and also a Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences. Given the multitude of options available, where the candidates can breathe a little easy about what to do after NEET.

One must also keep in mind that the medical domain comprises many of the different fields which are crucial to the smooth running of the system and can be as also pursued by the one it is interesting. Courses one can pursue without the NEET which include the Pharmacy, Nursing, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Forensic Science, Clinical Psychology.
