Each student chooses his or her career and degree based on strengths and weaknesses. Yet there are other stages at which candidate’s battle between "what to decide next" and "change the field." One is in English, where the child holds back after having earned a bachelor's or master's degree. Many people conclude that students with an English course can only choose teaching as a profession. But contrary to the earlier idea, holding a degree in English opens numerous paths than any career opportunities offered by other degrees. If one chooses to study English literature at university, he/she will establish effective interpersonal communication skills, become proficient at stating a point, portraying a narrative, and analyzing different worldviews. If a candidate is interested in making a career in literature or linguistics, he/she should aim for the higher studies. After having a Bachelor's degree, one shall then opt for a master's degree to build a more flourishing career.

Here are the top 5 career options a child can choose after having an English degree:

Careers in media and journalism

One of the most exciting career options having an English degree includes media and journalism. Because a Journalism career requires one to be logical, knowledgeable of their surroundings, and possess outstanding communication skills, an English Honours is the ideal fit for it. One can be creative as well as showcase his/her writing and communication skills through this field. The skills learned in the degree will help one succeed in this profession right from collecting information to publishing, editing, and advertising the news. If one wishes to have a well-established career in journalism, choose a master's degree after an undergraduate degree in English.

A career in creative and content writing/ blogging

Most of the English honors students have their keen interest in writing blogs, contents, articles, etc. One may use his/ her degree to pen-down all the ideas and creativeness and build a professional career in it. One can jot down his/ her thoughts and write novels, stories, poetry, plays, or script for films and theatre and become creative writers. However, content writing focuses more on brand-focused content writing, and blogging is more flexible. You can write articles about anything you want-fashion, technology, etc.
