Infrastructure

The university offers a great number of courses along with the essential facilities for the students. Technology up-gradation has been done at the campus keeping in mind the needs of the students in recent times. The campus boasts of a convention centre which is spread over an area of 2, 50, 000 square feet and has the capacity of 2500 people. It also has a well-structured cafeteria. 

 

The university also has separate departments for different courses along with individual auditoriums. The student facilities are also created by Gujarat University like consumer store, bank, post office, Gujarat University canteen, refreshment centres and so on.

  • The university has a well-equipped library so as to help the students in their studies. 
  • Modern research facilities are provided to the students and contemporary learning aids are also offered. 
  • Field trips are organized so as to understand the course in a better manner. 

 

Courses

  • The study abroad program at Gujarat University has seen an increase in the number of students from abroad. 
  • The number of students which was last recorded was 400 students. 
  • To continue with this steady flow of students, the Gujarat University has come up with many different courses like Tribal culture of Gujarat, Yoga and meditation, Studies in Gandhian Philosophy, Indian languages, Indian mythology, Indian films, Religions of India, Indian Poetics, Journalism and Public Relations, Environmental challenges, Homestay in Indian Background, Tradition and design process in India and so on. 
  • The courses have been so designed that they throw light on the culture, tradition and heritage of our country. International students who want to know about India or Gujarat can opt for these courses.
  • Some of the new courses in Masters degree courses include MSc in clinical science, Computer science, Forensic science, Animation, Biotechnology, Human Genetics, Microbiology, Bio-diversity, Biomedical technology, Geology, Mobile communication, Digital communication and Climate change.
  • The university also has come up with a number of PG Diploma and Diploma courses along with the Master's courses for the students. Special certificate courses in different foreign languages have also been introduced so as to keep up with the world. Some of the languages on offer are French, German, Greek, Italian, Chinese, Russian and Spanish. 
  • Apart from this, Gujarat University also has signed MoUs with many reputed foreign universities. This has been done so as to attract foreign students to the university and also organize student exchange programs. Some of the universities include UK Wroclaw University of Technology, Poland, Regina University, Canada, Birmingham University, Grenada University, British Petroleum International Limited, London. 

 

Duration of course and fees structure

  • Gujarat University has ten weeks of specialized courses for international students. 
  • The courses are open for admission during Fall and Spring. The fee for these courses includes 5, 500 USD per semester. The application process also consists of a written application and transcript. The whole process takes about five weeks to complete. 
  • The five-week course is offered from June to July. The course fee is 1500 USD. The application is processed through email. The popular courses include Art of Rangoli, Indian films and music, Yoga and meditation, Indian literature and others.
  • Short term courses are also on offer. These are usually three to six-week courses. For these courses, the details are updated on the website and the application is accepted via the website. Some of the short term courses that the University offer include Rural Business Development Service, Studies in the Tribal Culture of India, Contexts of Indian Business, Service Management, Artistic/ Cultural identities of India and many more.
  • The courses have an immense scope and the students can make the selection according to their area of interest. The different courses available at Gujarat University have been pivotal in attracting many international students.
