WBJEE 2020 entrance exam has been conducted on 2nd February 2020 for admission into UG programmes such as Architecture, Pharmacy, Engineering and Technology in various Government and self-financed Universities in the state of West Bengal. While the Paper 1 (Mathematics) exam took place in the morning session, i.e., 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Paper 2 exam (Physics and Chemistry) took place in the afternoon session, i.e., 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
What it looks like from the observation from experts that WBJEE Physics and Mathematics section followed the pattern of JEE Mains.
Aishwarya Banerjee, a WBJEE aspirant, said the questions in Physics and Mathematics followed the standard of JEE Main, covering the whole syllabus. “I appeared for the JEE Main in January, and the questions in WBJEE were at par with that entrance examination. The questions in Physics especially followed the pattern of JEE Main, followed by Mathematics and Chemistry.”
Reiterating the same, teachers too said the state Joint Entrance (WBJEE) paper was at par with JEE Main. “This is the first time that the state joint entrance examination followed the pattern of JEE Main. In Physics, questions covered the entire syllabus. While in JEE Main, it covers 70 per cent of the syllabus, WBJEE covered the whole syllabus,” said Sandip Sanyal, Associate Professor, Physics, FIITJEE.
