Staff Selection Commission - Combined Graduate Level Examination, often referred to as SSC-CGL is an examination conducted to recruit staff to various posts in ministries, departments and organizations of the Government of India. It is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission for selecting staff for various Group B and Group C posts of the Government. The Staff Selection Commission was established in 1975.

SSC CGL Exam Pattern
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) every year in four levels for various posts. Before beginning the preparation the candidate must take note in the changes of exam pattern and syllabus.

Candidate must qualify each stage of the exam to be eligible for appearing in the next stage. Based on the marks scored, the candidate will be shortlisted, category wise.
Tier-I and Tier-II are compulsory for all posts.
Tier-III paper will be for only those candidates who apply for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and who are shortlisted in Tier-I for this Post.
Tier-IV will be for those candidates who are shortlisted in Tier-I for Paper-IV, i.e., for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officers.

SSC CGL(Mains) Tier-2 Exam Pattern
Exam Structure- Consists of 4 papers -Quantitative Abilities, English Language and comprehension, Statistics, General Studies(Finance and Economics) respectively. Paper -1 and Paper-2 is compulsory for all posts whereas Paper-3 only for the candidates who apply for Junior Statistical Officer(shortlisted in Tier-I) and Paper-4 only for those candidates who apply for Assistant Audit Officer/Assitant Accounts Officer (Shortlisted in Tier-1)
Duration- 2 Hours for each paper and 2 Hours 40 minutes for candidates who are visually handicapped.
Negative Marking - 0.25 for each wrong answer in Paper-II and 0.50 for each wrong answer in Paper-I Paper-IIIand Paper-IV

Computer Proficiency Test(CPT) for the post of Assistant Section Officer of Central Secretariat Service, Assistant Section Officer, Assistant in Serious Fraud Investigation Office under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and Assistant (GSI) in the Ministry of Mines. Word Processing, Spread Sheets and Generation of slides are the three modules that are important for this exam

SSC CGL Cut-Off
Staff selection commission (SSC) publish the cut-off for SSC CGL after the declaration of results of tire-wise exams. As per SSC, 8.34 lakhs candidates appeared for SSC CGL 2018 (tier 1).
SSC CGL cut off is the minimum marks required for the candidates to qualify for the next round.
- SSC CGL Cutoff will be the basis of qualification for the next round.
- SSC CGL Cutoff is declared in the form of Marks
- SSC CGL Cutoff Tier 1 is given out of 200 marks
- SSC CGL Cutoff Tier 2 is given out of 600 Marks for all papers except for Assistant CSS and MEA
- The cut-off for Tier 3 will not be declared as it is a descriptive qualifying paper

SSC CGL Application Form
1.Registration:
- Go to the official website of SSC
- Click on " Apply" and then on "CGL"
- Click on "New Registration"

- Your registration number and password will be generated and send to your registered email address
2. Photo and Signature
Candidates have to upload the scanned images of the photograph and signature. Specifications of the image are:

Admit card will be available to those candidates who have successfully submitted their application form within the stipulated time period.

SSC CGL Result
SSC will announce the result of SSC CGL in online mode for all the tires of the exam. On the basis of marks in SSC CGL tier I, candidates will be selected for tier II exam. Selection of candidates for Tier III will be done based on the combined marks in Tier I and II. The final result will be declared based on performance of the candidates in Tier 1, 2 and 3.
SSC CGL Answer Key
SSC releases the answer key of SSC CGL in online mode for Tier 1 and 2. SSC CGL answer key will be released within a few days after completion of the exam. To check the answer key, candidates will have to login with their login credentials. By going through SSC CGL answer key, candidates can calculate their probable score on the basis of correct and incorrect answers.
SSC CGL Eligiblity
Candidates applying for the various posts need to have a bachelor's degree from a recognized university at the time of applying. The age requirements are between 20 to 30 years. The age limits may vary depending on the position applied. For instance, the position for Inspector of Central Bureau of Narcotics which had an age range from 18 to 27 years, was extended to 30 years in September 2019. The application fee for 2019 is Rs. 100. All women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from paying the application fee.
