Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) is conducted every year by the Anna UniversityThrough TNEA, candidates can get admission in the engineering undergraduate courses after class 12th.

  • The official notification regarding Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission will release in the month of April 2020. 
  • With the release of official notification, TNEA application form is expected to be available from the first week of May 2020. 
  • Candidates willing apply for TNEA must go through the eligibility criteria laid down by the authority.

TNEA 2020 Admit Card:

The admit card/hall ticket for TNEA 2020 will be released on the official website of Anna University. Candidates can get their admit cards by logging in to the official website of the university.

TNEA 2020 Syllabus:

The entrance test for TNEA will not be conducted as a written exam. However, the entrance will be conducted as a detailed counselling procedure.

TNEA 2020 Exam Pattern:

The candidates should know that the written test for TNEA has been stopped. However, the selection process for admission now totally depends upon the counseling session.

TNEA 2020 Cut Off:

The cut off marks are the minimum mark a candidate will require to be eligible for the admission. The cut off marks for TNEA 2020 will be released by Anna University. After the completion of application form submission, the cut off will be announced in online mode. The cut-off will depend on various factors like no of available seats, no of applicants, and 10+2 or equivalent educational performances of the candidates.

TNEA 2020 Application Form:

The application form of TNEA 2020 will be available only in online mode. After filling in the online registration of TNEA application form 2020, the candidate will have to send a printout of the completed online application in person or by post to The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions, Anna University, Chennai-600 025
The application form must be accompanied by photocopies of relevant certificates and photographs and must reach the above mentioned address on or before the last date. The registration fee must be paid only online. Candidates must pay the registration fee as per the category they belong to, or else their applications will be rejected.
When filling the application form of TNEA 2020, care must be taken to enter only genuine information. The TNEA application form 2020 will include fields like education details and personal details. Also, when uploading any documents, the candidate must conform to the prescribed format.
TNEA 2020 Application Fee:
The application fee can only be paid through online mode of transaction. General category candidates have to pay Rs. 500 for the application fee whereas other reserved categories have to pay an amount of Rs. 250.

TNEA 2020 Counseling:

The counseling for TNEA will start from the 3rd week of July. Before the commencement of the counseling session, the merit list will be produced by the authorities. It is expected to be released by the fourth week of June 2020. The candidates are advised to keep their original documents with them during the counseling process. Here are the documents listed to take with you.

  • Class X and class XII Certificate and Mark sheet
  • Counseling call letter
  • Identity proof
  • Domicile certificate
  • Category certificate (if applicable)
  • Six passport size photographs
The candidate will have to choose his desired subjects from the given options for B. Tech programs. Based on the candidate’s merit, choices seats will be allotted. The candidate has to collect the allotment letter and verify his/her college. They also have to report at their respective college and enrol themselves in the institute before the due date.
TNEA 2020 Reservation of Seats:
Allotment of undergraduate engineering seats through TNEA 2020 will be done under seven categories. These six categories and the percentage of seats reserved per category are outlined in the table below:

TNEA 2020 Result:

There will be no entrance test conducted for TNEA. The admission will totally depend upon the 12th result of the candidate.

TNEA 2020 Answer Key:

As there will be no written test for the admission process, there will be no answer keys either. The admission procedure depends upon the mark secured by the candidate in their 10+2 or equivalent examination.

TNEA 2020 Eligibility:

  • Candidates should have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from any recognized institution/board.
  • Candidates should have passed VIII-XII exams from Tamil Nadu state.
  • Natives of Tamil Nadu state who passed out VIII-XII from other states have to submit their Nativity Certificate.
  • Children of Central government employees are eligible only if their parents are employed in TN for the past 5 years.
  • Children of All India service Tamil Nadu cadre officers are also eligible.
  • There is no age limit to apply for the TNEA 2020 examination.
