Telangana State Law Common Entrance Test (TS LAWCET) is conducted by Osmania University, Hyderabad every year to offer admissions to 3 years and 5 years LLB/BL courses. TS LAWCET 2020 Schedule

The Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) the conducting body has announced the full schedule for TS Law Common Entrance Test (LAWCET) 2020. The notification has been released after a meeting of the Common Entrance Test (CET) Committee was held on February 22, 2020. As per the notification, the online application process for LAWCET will begin from March 2, 2020, onwards. The last date to submit completed application form without late fee is may 31st. TS LAWCET 2020 Admit Card

Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) will release the admit card of TS Law Common Entrance Test (LAWCET) 2020 on May 21, 2020. TSLAWCET 2020 Hall Tickets will be issued only to those candidates who have submitted the application form successfully before the last date. The admit card or hall ticket for TS LAWCET 2020 is an essential document without which no candidates will be allowed to appear for the exam. Candidates can download the admit card from the official website of TSCHE only. The candidates have to download the admit card by login using their credential i.e. registration number, date of birth and qualifying exam hall ticket number.   • Go to the official website of TSCHE
  • Click on "Download Hall Ticket"
  • On the hall ticket login window, enter your registration number for TS LAWCET, date of birth (in Day/Month/Year format) and qualifying exam hall ticket number i.e. Class 12th hall ticket number for five-year integrated LLB course and Degree hall ticket as registered for three-year LLB course 
  • Click on the Hall Ticket download option.
  • The admit card will appear on the screen
  • Download and take a print out of the admit card for future use

The admit card is an important document because it mentions necessary information related to candidates and exam centre as under:

Instructions on TS LAWCET Admit Card 2020

There are certain rules and regulations defined by Osmania University. The instructions are printed on the back of TS LAWCET Admit Card in English and Telugu. They are as follows:

  • Candidates will not be allowed to appear in the test without the admit card of TS LAWCET.
  • A printout of TS LAWCET Admit Card should be taken out on an A4 size paper only.
  • Candidate must not damage the information given on the e-Admit card of TS LAWCET 2020.
  • Hall ticket of TS LAWCET is a non-transferable document. Any tampering of the document will automatically result in disqualification of candidature.
  • Candidates should preserve the card until the time of counselling/admission.
  • Read the instructions before starting the computer-based test
  • TS LAWCET Question Paper will consist a total of 120 Multiple Choice Questions. MCQs from 3 different sections (subject wise) with 4 responses will be given. Out of 4 responses, only 1 response is correct.
  • Candidates are required to answer all the questions. All questions carry equal marks. There is no negative mark for an incorrect answer.

TS LAWCET Exam Centers 2020

TS LAWCET 2020 will be organized at around 12 regional centers in the state of Telangana and 4 regional centers in Andhra Pradesh. Candidates have to fill their preference of exam center during TS LAWCET application submission. However, it depends on the conducting authority to allocate the test centers to the candidates.
Note: While filling the application form, regional Centers will be displayed based on the availability and once it has reached the maximum capacity then the center will not be displayed in application form 

Items Barred at TS LAWCET Exam Center

  • Any electronic material such as watch, microphone, Bluetooth, earphone, mobile, health band, calculator, pager and pieces/bits of paper, pencil box etc. is not allowed inside the exam hall.
  • It is recommended to wear open footwear not closed shoes.
  • Candidates are also advised not to put mehendi or any cosmetic color on their hands as it may cause an error while doing digital fingerprint scan recording on the exam day.
  • They cannot sit for the exam unless they clear the fingerprint scanning.

Documents Required at the Exam Center:

  • Candidates applying under reserved categories have to carry the original copy of their Caste/Disability certificate on the day of the exam.
  • Those who have changed their names with due procedure should also carry their respective document.
  • Bring an original and Xerox copy of a valid photo ID proof along with TS LAWCET Admit Card.

Any of the following below mentioned documents will serve as an Identity proof to appear for TS LAWCET Exam:

  • Driving License
  • PAN Card
  • Passport
  • Voter ID

  • Hall Ticket/ Admit Card will be available at www.lawcet.tsche.ac.in.
  • Document can be downloaded until the exam date.

  • Mental Ability:

Patterns, syllogisms, logical sequences, analogies, completing arguments, drawing well-supported conclusions, reasoning by analogy, applying principles or rules, the structure of relationships, logical conclusions in the context of structures, deductive reasoning from a set of statements.

  • General Knowledge:

General and Social Sciences with stress on Indian History, Geographical knowledge of India, Indian Heritage, and Culture, Basics of Indian Economy, Indian Polity.

  • Current Affairs:

National and International events; Major developments in sports/world politics/economy; Eminent personalities; Awards and Honors.

  • Aptitude for Study of Law:

Study of law; Legal Awareness covering Constitutional Law and Polity; Research Aptitude; Problem solving ability.

TS LAWCET 2020 Exam Pattern

Telangana State Post Graduate Law Common Entrance Test 2020 will be conducted on May 25 next year. Before appearing for the exam, candidates should know the basic features of the exam such as subjects, type of questions, marking scheme and other details. Therefore, Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) releases TS LAWCET 2020 exam pattern mentioning all details of TS LAWCET exam pattern along with the notification. The law entrance exam will be conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode at the designated test centres of TSLAWCET 2020. TS LAWCET 2020 Marking Scheme:

Since the questions are of objective type, the marking scheme is as under:

  • One mark will be awarded for each correct response by candidates
  • There is no negative marking in case of wrong attempts by candidates
  • Moreover, no marks will be awarded or deducted in case candidates leave the questions unattempted

Mode of TS LAWCET Exam:

The law entrance examination will be a Computer Based Test. Each candidate will be appointed a computer at TS LAWCET Exam Center only. It is suggested that each test taker must practice through ‘Online Test Series’ only
The examination tests the following abilities of candidates:

  • Aptitude for Study of Law
  • General Knowledge and Mental Ability and
  • Current Affairs

TS LAWCET Duration of Exam

  • The duration of the law entrance exam is 1 hour 30 minutes (90 minutes).
  • It is mandatory for the applicants to complete the exam in a given period of time.
  • No extra time will be allotted to any of the candidates under any circumstances.
  • In case of PwD and SAP candidates, an extra 20 minutes will be allotted to complete the examination.
  • No sectional time limit is allotted to the sections in the examination.

Type of Questions in TS LAWCET:

  • Questions in the law entrance examination are objective type i.e. multiple choice questions.
  • There will be four choices to question.
  • Candidates have to mark the most appropriate answer.
  • There will be a question of an essay too, which is descriptive in nature.

TS LAWCET Medium of Examination

  • Telangana Law Common Entrance Test will be administered in English and Telugu medium.
  • From this year, candidates can attempt the exam in Urdu as well.
  • Applicants can attempt the questions as per there preference.

TS LAWCET 2020 Marking Scheme

  • Each question in the exam will carry 1 mark.
  • For every correct response, the candidate is awarded 1 mark.
  • In case of wrong answer, there is no penalty of a mark.
  • For unattempted questions, there is no negative marking. 
  • In case, a candidate marks two answers to a question, it will be treated as a wrong answer.

Qualifying marks in TS LAWCET

  • Candidate must score a minimum of 35% marks to qualify entrance exam, which means that minimum passing marks are 42 out of 120.
  • However, no minimum marks have to be attained by candidates belonging to SC/ ST category to qualify the law entrance exam.

Tie Breaker in TS LAWCET

In case of more than one candidate obtaining same marks, the following criteria will be followed:

  • Marks in Part C i.e. Aptitude for the Study of Law will be considered
  • In case the tie still continues, marks in Part B i.e. Current Affairs will be considered
  • If the tie still persists, candidates with same marks will be grouped together for ranking purpose and at the time of admission, higher age might become the decisive factor.

TS LAWCET 2020 Cut-Off

The cut-off for TS LAWCET 2020 will be released after the result is declared. The cutoff is released separately for colleges accepting TS LAWCET scores. The cut-off is different for each category candidates.

  • Candidates applying for any of the programs must score a minimum of 42 marks out of 120 marks to be eligible for the merit list.
  • There are no criteria of minimum qualifying marks for SC/ST category students. 
  • For 3-year LLB program, 21 colleges will accept the scores of the law exam.
  • Whereas, for 5-year integrated law program, 13 law schools will accept the scores of TS LAWCET 2020.

TS LAWCET 2020 Cut off Criteria

Candidates securing minimum qualifying marks will be able to make into the cut off list. The minimum qualifying criteria is as under:

  • Three-year LLB course: 40% marks in the bachelor degree final year exam

 TS LAWCET 2020 Rank Allotment Process:

The cutoff marks will indicate the last rank for admission under each category, therefore the cutoff list will be made on the basis of the rank list for TS LAWCET 2020.

Tie-Break:

There may be cases where two or more candidates will get same rank and in such cases, the tie in ranks will be resolved as under:

  • The candidate securing more marks in Part C i.e. Aptitude for study of law will be ranked higher 
  • If the tie still exists, then the candidate securing more marks in Part B i.e. Current Affairs will be ranked higher 
  • If even after this, the tie exists then the candidate older in age will be ranked higher  

TS LAWCET Cut off: Previous Year Cut Off:

TS LAWCET Cut off remains same every year, it is 35% marks in the entrance examination. However, the cut off for the participating institutes are the opening and closing rank of seat allotment at the counselling process. Given below is the opening and closing cut off score of top colleges:

TS LAWCET 2020 Application Form

The application form will release during the 3rd week of March 2020 on the official website of TSCHE only. The application form for five-year integrated LLB courses and three-year LLB courses is the same, but the candidates have to select the course during the registration process only.Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) will start online registration and application forms for TS LAWCET 2020 from March 2, 2020, onwards. Candidates seeking admission to undergraduate law courses through TS LAWCET 2020 can apply for the exam on the official website of TSCHE only. Candidates have to apply for TS LAWCET 2020 before the last date of application i.e. April 6, 2020. The regular fee for the application form to be paid by the general category candidates is Rs 800, and to be paid by SC/ ST/ Physically Handicapped candidates is Rs 500. Moreover, candidates applying for TS LAWCET need not apply separately for the law colleges accepting the examination.

TS LAWCET 2020 Application Form Details

TS LAWCET 2020 Application Form:

Application Form Availability: TS LAWCET 2020 Application Form is expected to be available on the TSCHE website from March 6, 2020.

Application Form Last Date: TS LAWCET 2020 Application Form will tentatively be available until April 6, 2020. Interested candidates can fill the Application Form before the last date.

Course and Exam Centre Selection: It is mandatory for the candidates to fill the desired course and the test centre while filling the TS LAWCET 2020 Application Form online.

Available TS LAWCET 2020 programmes are as follows:

  • LLB 3-year programme
  • LLB (Honours) 3-year programme
  • BA and LLB 5-year programme
  • BBA and LLB 5-year programme.

TS LAWCET 2020 Application fee: The application fee for TS LAWCET 2020 is INR 800 for general category candidates and INR 500 for SC/ST category candidates.
Payment Mode: Candidates will have the option to pay TS LAWCET 2020 Application Form fees via online or via offline.
Online Payment: Candidate who are interested to pay the fee online, can pay using payment gateway through net banking, debit card or credit card.
Offline Payment: To make a payment offline candidates have to visit nearest TS /AP Online Centres. On successful payment, a receipt of the registration fee payment containing a Transaction Id will be provided.
Mistakes Rectification: Candidates should note that there will not be an opportunity to make any correction to the application form after the final submission. Correction can be made only while filling the form before the final submission.
Information to be provided: Candidates will have to provide information on their family income, caste, previous qualifications, payment details, Date of Birth, local/non-local status etc.
Documents to be Uploaded: Candidates need to upload the scanned copy of their recent passport size photograph and signature in JPG/JPEG form while filling the application form.
Confirmation: Upon completing and submitting the TS LAWCET 2020 application form, an email will be sent to the candidate with a copy of the filled-in TS LAWCET application form.
Take a Printout: Candidates must download and preserve a printout of the same, for future reference. Candidates must also keep their registration number along with the admit card handy, which they may need until the counselling and admission procedures are completed.

Fill Particulars Carefully: Candidates who wish to apply for TS LAWCET 2020 are requested to fill the particulars carefully in the online application. The required information should be collected from the relevant documents as mentioned above.

Check the Filled Particulars: Candidates are requested to check the filled in particulars before pressing SUBMIT button during the online application. If the candidate wishes to change, he/she can change selecting the ' EDIT ' button. After verifying, submit the online application.

Corrections: Before submission of the online application, if any corrections are to be incorporated, the candidate can log in to the website with his details and modify the information.
If the candidate wants to change the information after submission which is not allowed on the website, the candidate has to submit their complaint selecting the "Submit Complaint" in Help Desk provided on the Home Page.
It should be noted that information candidates wish to edit will be changed only if provided documentary evidence is satisfactory. Hence, candidates are requested to fill the application form very carefully for the first time itself.

 Step 3: Application Form Submission

Candidates have to submit their application form as under:
1- Click on the checkbox for ‘I accept the Terms & Conditions’ at the bottom of the application window
2- Click on ‘Submit’ and a preview of the filled-in application form will appear on the screen
3- Complete the application submission process and download the application form
4- Also, get at least two printouts of the submitted application form

TS LAWCET 2020 Application Correction Window 

1- After the application form has been submitted, TSCHE will open application correction window for candidates so that they can edit/ correct details in the application form.
2- To correct/ edit the application form, candidates have to log in using Payment Reference ID, Mobile Number and Date of Birth.
3- Once, the application correction window is over, candidates will not be able to change/ correct their application form. 

Note: In case candidates want to modify any information which is not allowed through applicant account, then they can submit their complaint by selecting the “Submit Complaint” option. The helpdesk details are as under:

TS LAWCET 2020 Counseling

The counselling of Telangana State Law Common Entrance Test (TS LAWCET) will be conducted in the first week of October 2020. Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) conducts the counselling in online as well as offline mode. The counselling is conducted on the basis of the rank list which is prepared according to the results of TS LAWCET exam. The counselling will be held separately for the three-year LLB course and the five-year integrated LLB courses. TS LAWCET 2020 counselling will comprise online option entry, choice locking and provisional seat allotment as well as document verification and reporting to the allotted colleges. As part of the TS LAWCET web-counselling process, candidates need to select their choice of course and college through the option entry process in the online mode. Only candidates who have a valid rank in TS LAWCET exam are eligible to take part in the counselling round.

The answer keys for both the five-year integrated LLB course and the three-year LLB course are released simultaneously after the exam is conducted on the official website. Candidates can match their attempted questions to those in the answer key and get a brief idea about their results. Along with the answer key, the official question papers are also released by the authorities. Candidates who are not satisfied with the preliminary answer key can challenge it. They will have to submit their objections through online mode by sending an Email to  [email protected] before the due date.

TS LAWCET 2020 Eligibility

For 3 Year LLB:

  • Graduation degree or equivalent from a recognized University with a minimum of 45% aggregate (40% for SC/ST Candidates). In case a candidate has scored less than 45% in the qualifying exam, he/she should have passed an additional degree with a minimum of 45% marks.
  • The maximum age should not exceed 30 years as on December 31, 2019 (can be relaxed up to 5 years in case of SC/ST Candidates).

For 5 Year LLB:

  • Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) or equivalent from a recognized Board with a minimum of 45% aggregate (40% for SC/ST Candidates).
  • The maximum age should not exceed 20 years as on December 31, 2019 (can be relaxed up to 2 years in case of SC/ST Candidates).
