Punjab University conducts the PU LLB exam once every year for admission into 3 year LLB program offered by the University.

  • PU LLB application form will be available from the last week of April. It will be available online mode on the official website of Punjab University.
  • PU LLB exam contains 4 sections-  English Comprehension, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Legal Aptitude, Legal Reasoning.
  • Candidates will be given 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete this exam.
  • Counseling of PU LLB will be held in Offline mode at the Departments of Laws in Punjab University Chandigarh campus.
  • Students will have different PU LLB Cut off scores based on their category.

PU LLB 2021 Schedule:

The examination dates will be published related to PU LLB 2021 on the university’s official website. Students must regularly check on the website to get the latest updates regarding the examination. The below table shows the important dates related to PU LLB 2021:

PU LLB 2021 Admit card:
The candidates can download the admit card by logging in to its official site by using their registration number and date of birth. The admit card consists of the name of the candidate, their hall number, roll number, address of the exam center, date and timing of the exam with exam guidelines etc. Without the admit card, no candidate is allowed to the exam hall. The candidates should keep the admit card as it is also needed at the time of counselling.

PU LLB 2021 Syllabus:

Legal Aptitude– Jurisprudence-I, Constitutional Law I, Law of Contract, Family Law I, Law of Torts including Motor Vehicle Accidents and Consumer Protection Laws, Jurisprudence II, Constitutional Law II, Special Contracts, Family Law II, International Human Rights & Public International Law, Law of Crimes-I, Property Law, Labour Law, Law of Taxation, Company Law, Administrative Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution etc.
Reasoning Ability and Knowledge of English– Incorrect sentences, Jumbled words/sentences, Fill in the blanks, Reading Comprehension, Unseen passages, Essay-writing, Series, Direction sense, Blood Relations, Analogy, Critical Reasoning, Syllogism etc.
General Knowledge & Current Affairs-Major UN bodies, their functions locations, Important awards of the year – sports, science, literature and arts, Overview of Indian history and geography, Important happenings in the area of the Indian Constitution or Justice system and Physical geography, science and environment.'

PU LLB 2021 Exam Pattern:

  • Mode- Offline
  • Duration- 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Total marks- 100 marks
  • Type of questions- Multiple Choice Questions
  • Negative marks- ¼ marks will be deducted
  • Marks for correct answers- 1 mark
  • The language of papers- Hindi, English, and Punjabi.

PU LLB 2021 Cut off:

The candidates will get a chance to get admission into Punjab University if they secure marks that is equal to or more than the decided cut off marks. The cut off mark also depends on the level of questions, the number of candidates participated in the exam, availability of seats and the previous year cut off too. Minimum cut off percentage to clear PU LLB entrance exam will be calculated out of 75 marks.

Based on these factors cut-off marks will be decided 

  • Total numbers of candidates appear for the exam
  • Difficulty level of the paper
  • No. of candidates passed the exam
  • Previous year cut off marks
  • Average scores obtained by the candidate in the entrance test.
  • Availability of the Seat

PU LLB 2021 Application form:

The application form of PU LLB 2021 is expected to be released on the 1st week of April 2021. The candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria can apply for the entrance exam.

Here is the procedure to fill up the application form-

  • Step-1: Registration
  • Step-2: Fill up all the required details such as personal details, academic details & Communication details like phone number, email address, etc.
  • Step-3: Uploading of necessary documents.
  • Step-4: Recheck the form and submit the application form.

PU LLB 2021 Application fees:
The application fee for General Category is Rs. 2100 and for SC/ST/PWD is  Rs. 1050. The fees will be accepted by Bank Challan mode and once paid it will be non-refundable.

PU LLB 2021 Counselling:

After the release of the result, qualified candidates have to appear for the counselling session with required documents. The allotment of the seats will be done according to the merits and no of applicants in the entrance test. The process of counselling is expected to be held in 2nd week of May. The document verification, confirmation of application will be held after date is announced.

PU LLB 2021 Result:

The conducting authority of PU LLB 2021 releases the result tentatively in the last week of June 2021 in online mode. The result consists of the section-wise as well as the overall marks of the candidates. The name of the qualified candidates take place in the merit list and they can appear in the counselling process.

PU LLB 2021 Answer Key:

Students can access the answer key after the release from the official website. They can evaluate their answers as per the answer key and expect a probable mark and rank in the entrance test.

PU LLB 2021 Eligibility:

Degree qualification requirement- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from an institute recognized by Bar Council of India.
Minimum marks- 45% min in aggregate (05% relaxation for SC/ST/BC/ PwD)
Other requirements– individuals who have UG degree recognized by the Syndicate, through Modern Indian Languages Hindi or Urdu or Punjabi and/or in a Classical Language. Percentage of marks (45%) will be calculated by taking into account the percentage of aggregate marks that the applicant secured in language examination.
