The Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test-2020 is being conducted for the purpose of determining the eligibility/merit, for admission of Karnataka and non-Karnataka candidates to 1st year /1st-semester full time/part-time MBA / MCA / M.E. / M. Tech. / M. Arch courses and for admission to 2nd-year Lateral Entry to MCA Course in Government / University / Private Aided / Private Un-Aided professional educational institutions in the state of Karnataka which is notified by the Government of Karnataka every year.

Karnataka PGCET 2020 Admit Card:

The Admit card for Karnataka PGCET 2020 will be issued by the KEA authorities on their official website. The candidates can get their admit card from the official website of KEA by logging in with their login credential. The admit card contains important instructions like the things that are not be carried to the exam hall, date and time of examination, etc. It is mandatory for the students to carry their exam hall ticket i.e. admit card to the exam center. Karnataka PGCET 2020 Cut Off:

The candidates need to secure the same or more than the cut off mark to be eligible for the further admission procedure. Cut off is the minimum mark required by the candidate to qualify the entrance exam successfully. The authorities of Karnataka PGCET 2020 will prepare a merit list for the eligible candidates based on their performance in the exam. Students who will qualify the of cut-off  criteria will be invited for the counselling process. The Cut-off is determined by the organizing authority i.e. Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). There are many factors that affect the determination of the cut-off criteria, these are mentioned below:

Karnataka PGCET 2020 Application form:

Candidates can apply for the entrance examination online, on the official website of the Karnataka Examination Authority. The application should be carefully filled and the details should be true to the best knowledge. If any kind of false information is found in the application then the registration of the candidate will be cancelled. While filling up the application there are certain documents that should be uploaded with in the prescribed format. Candidates have to pay the application fee of Rs. 650 (for each course) for General and OBC, whereas Rs. 500 for SC/ST and Category-I of Karnataka state only. The application fee can be paid either through challan deposited in any of the branch of state bank of Mysore or through e-payment post offices.

Steps for Application Process:

Step 1: The Application Form for Karnataka PGCET 2020 will be released in the third week of May 2020.

Step 2: Candidates need to online register themselves by entering their name, course for which they are applying, date of birth and other required information.

Step 3: After registering, students have to fill various details, upload the required documents and make fee payment.

Step 4: Candidates must keep ready the scanned images of photograph, signature and thumb impression.

Step 5: Before paying the fee, students have to verify complete details and then submit the form. No correction will be allowed after final submission of the form.

Step 6: Students must fill details in the application form carefully. The authority may or may not provide any correction facility.

Step 7: Candidates must take print out of the form for further use. Candidates are advised to keep the application form safely as it will be needed during the counselling and admission process.

Karnataka PGCET 2020 Counseling:

The counseling session for Karnataka PGCET 2020 will be conducted in the month of August. The counseling will be done online as well as offline mode. The candidates have to register themselves first for the counseling session online. The counseling will be done at one of the helpline centers. The list of helpline centers will be released by KEA soon. At those help centers, the candidates have to verify their original documents. The candidates will be called as per their rank in the stated entrance exam.

    1. The merit list is prepared separately for MBA

    Karnataka PGCET Result 2020 - Inter-se-merit

    In case where two or more candidates secures the same merit, then inter-se-merit is determined with reference to the total aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying exam.

    In case where marks obtained are equal again, the inter-se-merit is determined based on the age of candidates. Older candidates are preferred over younger ones.

    Re-Totalling or Revaluation of Marks

    The examination authority do not entertain request for re-totalling or revaluiation of OMR sheets.

    The answer key for Karnataka PGCET 2020 will be released within 3 days of the commencement of exam. The answer key will be released by the KEA authorities on the official website of KEA. After the declaration of answer key, candidates can estimate their result before the declaration.

    Karnataka PGCET 2020 Eligibility:

    Candidates of Karnataka and non-Karnataka (for seats surrendered by the management for (MBA/MCA) both can apply.

    1. SC/ST/Category-I/OBC is applicable to Karnataka candidates only.

    2. Candidates of Karnataka state should have the domicile of Karnataka.

    3. Appearing candidates can also apply.

    4. Reservation for Physically Disabled Special Category – Candidates claiming under this category are required to appear for the medical examination before a committee. 3% of the total seats in government and government aided colleges are reserved for candidates having 40% or more disability.

    Qualification Criteria

    For MBA:-

    1. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree of minimum of 3-year duration or equivalent examination.

    2. Must pass with a minimum of 50% mark (45% marks in Q.E. in case of SC, ST, and Category-I of Karnataka candidates).

    For MCA:-

    1. Candidates must pass the UG or equivalent examination with BCA, B.Sc (IT/Computer Science) from a recognized university.

    2. Candidates should have Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Computer Application, Computer Programming, Business Mathematics, and Business Statistics as one of the optional subjects in the qualifying exam.

    3. Candidates should have obtained 50% marks. 45% marks for SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka state.

    For MCA Lateral Entry:-

    1. Candidates have to qualify bachelor degree in BCA, B.Sc (IT/Computer Science) from a recognized university.

    2. Mathematics and Business Statistics are one of the optional subjects.

    3. Candidates should have obtained 50% marks. 45% marks for SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka state.

    For M.E/M.Tech/M.Arch:-

    1. Candidates should have a clear equivalent examination in any discipline from a recognized university.

    2. A candidate must have the valid Gate score.
