The Council of Architecture(CoA) has postponed the first and second rounds of tests for NATA 2020. The first round of the test is proposed to be conducted on August 29th, 2020 while the dates for the second round of test has not been decided yet. The test was cancelled due to the increasing cases of coronavirus across the country.
The candidates will be given an opportunity to appear for NATA 2020 from their place of residence or allotted test centre in case they do not have network connectivity or access to webcam and laptop. Candidates will receive login credentials to opt for their preference for examination for NATA 2020 i.e. from home or test centre.
NATA has introduced changes with a revised syllabus for part A drawing test and mode of test i.e. the Part-A Test (Drawing Test) will not be paper-based drawing test but as a preferential choice type (drawing test to be online) test which is to be answered on computer/laptop. Part B will also be held in an online mode as notified.
Change in Part A (Drawing Test) of NATA 2020
The following are the syllabus for drawing test of NATA 2020.
- To understand the important visual principles in a composition (2D OR 3D) such as balance, rhythm, direction, hierarchy, etc.
- Visualise geometry and the ability to visualize the shape and solve geometrical puzzles to test spatial intelligence
- Acknowledge colour theory and the various terminologies to test colour scheme awareness and knowledge
- Visual system interpretation and perception to test graphical similarities and other properties; Ability to understand the spatial relationship between objects, and to visualize images and scenarios; Tests for cognitive ability: perception, attention, recognition, memory etc.
The revised NATA brochure with new test dates and other important instruction, schedule, technical specifications, and details regarding new registrations for NATA 2020 will be uploaded soon on the website of the council coa.gov.in as well on NATA website nata.in. COA will reopen the NATA 2020 registration process.
