Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will organize the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET 2021). Various colleges and universities of Karnataka offer admission on the basis of KCET scores. KCET 2021 Admit Card:

The Admit card for KCET 2021 will be released by the KEA (Karnataka Examination Authority) on the official website for KCET 2021. Those who have successfully registered themselves can get the admit card by logging in to the official website.

KCET 2021 Syllabus:

KCET Question Paper is based on the First and Second PUC (Pre University College) syllabi (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology) prescribed by the Department of Pre-University Education of Karnataka State. Pre University College in Karnataka is equivalent to 10+2 or H.S.C. as prevalent in most of the education boards in India.

Physics- 10+2 syllabus which would include topics like Electrostatics, Magnetism, Optics, Current electricity, and Waves.
Chemistry- 12th standard syllabus with topics such as Surface chemistry, organic chemistry, solid-state, polymers, electrostatics, and biomolecules.
Mathematics- Differential calculus, Algebra, vectors, trigonometry, probability, and linear programming.

KCET 2021 Exam Pattern:

The KCET 2021 entrance exam pattern is such that candidates need to attempt 180 questions. The question paper will contain objective/multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and no subjective questions. Candidates are also advised to be careful while answering the questions. However, there will be negative marking for every question answered wrongly.

  • There will be multiple-choice questions asked in the exam.
  • The exam will be conducted through pen and paper-based mode in OMR pattern.
  • Candidates must use blue/black ballpoint pen to answer.
  • Each question will contain one mark. No marks will be given in case of multiple answers to the same question.
  • There will be no negative marking done for the wrong answers.

KCET 2021 Cut Off:

KCET 2021 Cutoff will be determined by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) after the declaration of KCET Result. The cutoff is the minimum marks which a student must obtain to qualify the entrance exam. Determination of Cut off is based on the following factors:

  • A number of applications applied for KCET.
  • A number of candidates who actually attended KCET.
  • Previous year KCET cutoff.
  • Level of difficulty in the KCET written exam.
  • Performance of candidates in the exam.
  • Availability of seats.

KCET 2021 Application form:

What should be kept ready before filling KCET application form 2021?

  • Valid email ID and mobile number of the candidate.
  • Aadhaar Card details (Optional).
  • Latest scanned photograph of the candidate.
  • Scanned or digital images of the signature of the candidate.
  • Scanned or digital image of left-hand thumb impression of the candidate.
  • Scanned image of the signature/left thumb impression of the parent.

Procedure to Apply
The application form will be invited through online mode only.After entering details, students will receive the application ID and password to their registered mobile number and Email ID. Upload the scanned images of passport size photograph, signature, and left-hand thumb impression. Take a printout of the application form and obtain principal seal & signature from the college you have passed the 12th exam (it will be required at the time of document verification).

KCET 2021 Application Fee:

Application fee payment will be done through offline mode (Bank Challan). Candidates residing outside India can pay the fee through DD drawn in favour of Executive Director, Karnataka Examination Authority payable at Bangalore. DD should be sent to the KEA address mentioning the application number. The application fees may vary from year to year.

KCET 2021 Counseling:

KCET 2021 Counselling Process will be started by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) from June 6, 2021 tentatively. Candidates can check their status by submitting the KCET 2021 application number. 

Based on the merit and preference of colleges and courses, candidates will be called for the counseling of KCET 2021 for document verification and seat allotment process.

  • The seats will be allocated to the students based on their marks and KCET 2021 Cut Off

  • Candidates should fill in the college preferences keeping in mind their marks, category, number of seats in the college and KCET 2021 Seat Matrix.

Steps of KCET 2021 Counseling:

  • 3 rounds of counseling namely – Verification, Option entry, Allotment of Seats takes place.
  • To simplify the counseling stages there is a rank wise division of dates/time slots to visit the helpline centers for the verification of documents.
  • Training is provided to the candidates for option entry across all the available helpline centers.
  • The last step is allotment of seats which is done as per the preferences of the candidate and availability of seats.

KCET 2021 Counselling Dates:

There will be four counselling session in a day:

Forenoon Session-1 – 9:15 AM – 11:00 AM
Forenoon Session-2 – 11:15 AM – 1:15 PM
Afternoon Session-1 – 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Afternoon Session-2 – 4:15 PM – 6:15 PM

KCET 2021 Result:

The result will be published online and it will have the subject-wise score, rank, total score, etc. Candidates will be able to check the result of KCET 2021 by using the login credentials. KEA will not share the result either through email or through the post. KEA will go for the seat allotment procedure based on the marks secured in the examination.

  • Then the page to enter registration number will open in a new window.
  • Enter the KCET registration number as mentioned in the KCET 2021 admit card.
  • After that, the  KCET 2021 result will be displayed on the screen.

KCET 2021 Eligibility:

Those candidates who want to appear in the KCET 2021 entrance exam are advised to go through the eligibility section thoroughly to check their eligibility for the entrance test. As the entrance test allows students to apply for different courses, the eligibility criteria also vary as per the courses.

For Engineering Courses:

  • The candidate must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent education from a recognized board.
  • The candidate must have passed the exam with Physics, Mathematics & English as their major subjects.
  • The candidate must have scored at least 45% in Physics & another subject (From Chemistry/Computer science/Biotechnology/Biology/Electronics). However, there is 5% relaxation in case of SC/ST categories.

For B. Pharma Courses:

  • The candidate must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent education from a recognized board.
  • The candidate must have passed the exam with PCB (Physics, Chemistry, & Biology) / PCM (Physics, Chemistry, & Mathematics) as their major subjects.
  • The candidate must have passed the exam with a minimum score of 50% (10% relaxation in case of SC/ST) in PCB stream.

Q: I have studied from 1st to 8th std in the rural area. Am I eligible to claim Rural Quota Seats?
A: No. As per the rule, the candidate has to study in the rural area (with a population less than 50,000) from 1st to 10th standard to claim the quota.

Q: What is the qualifying minimum mark for engineering?
A: In the case of engineering, for General merit, it is 45% and in PCM for SC/ST/OBC it is 4

A: The duration of the exam is 3 hours 30 minutes for 3 papers.

Q: Are NEET/NATA scores mandatory for Medical/Architecture aspirants?
A: Yes, candidates have required a valid NATA/NEET score for admissions to the respective medical and architecture courses. Only after that, they can get admission into the govt. share of seats in Karnataka through KEA.
