Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) is conducted jointly by several premier research institutes in the country. JEST 2020 is conducted to offer admission to aspirants in Ph.D. / Integrated Ph.D. courses offered in courses such as Physics, Theoretical Computer Science, Neuroscience, and Computational Biology. The JEST 2020 score will be valid for a one-year duration only. There is no cap on taking the JEST exam, aspirants can appear for it any number of times. Aspirants are informed that securing a rank in JEST does not confirm admission in any college accepting the exam scores for admission. After qualifying the JEST exam, candidates need to fulfill the eligibility criteria as listed by individual colleges. JEST is considered to be a National Eligibility Test (NET) by the Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB). Aspirants who are seeking admission in Ph.D. or Integrated Ph.D. programs in Physics or Theoretical Computer Science or Neuroscience or Computational Biology need to give the JEST exam.
