IGNOU has launched a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry (Honours degree) program for the students in the online distance learning mode.
Eligibility Criteria:
A student who has passed their class 12 Board examinations in the Science stream with subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Biology can apply for this course. The course will be taught in Hindi and English.
One can apply for admission to this course in January or in July. The minimum duration of the course is three years while the maximum duration is of six years.
Fee Structure:
Full program fees-Rs. 43,500/-
Fees to be paid per year- Rs. 14,500/-
Fee to be paid in 1st year, (includes Registration Fee of Rs.200/-)-Rs.14,700/
Aim of the Course:
- One of the major aims of the course is to introduce the students to topics and themes in the field of Biochemistry.
- Exposing the candidates to the right courses with the help of which they can enhance their skills.
- With the help of laboratory and written assignments, enhance the reading and writing skills of the students which is suitable for UG study purposes.
- Exposing the candidates about the importance of an interdisciplinary approach by allowing them to enroll in courses outside their chosen discipline.
There are five categories mentioned in the prospectus which are available in the list of courses available for B.Sc. (Honours) Biochemistry: Availability Enhancement Compulsory Courses, Skill Enhancement Courses, Core Courses, Generic Elective, and Discipline Selective.
