IIMC 2021 Syllabus:

The candidates are advised to go through the syllabus for the entrance exam before starting their preparation. The entrance exam will be covering the basics of Journalism, Advertising, and Public Relations.

IIMC (The Indian Institute of Mass Communication) will be conducting the IIMC Entrance Exam 2021. This test is to select candidates for admission to around 184 seats across 6 institutes for all post-graduation programs. The application form can be submitted by both online and offline medium with the fee of INR 1200.

IIMC 2021 entrance exam does not have a standard pattern that can be followed but the candidates will be evaluated on the following topics in the exams.

a) For Journalism Courses- Candidates appearing for journalism entrance tests 2021 at IIMC will be judged on the following parameters:

Regular reading of Newspapers – You should read newspapers, magazines, editorials, and articles related to current affairs. The editorial part of the newspaper ‘The Hindu’s highly recommended as it helps you to develop an opinion about a specific matter or an issue.

There is no need of buying subscriptions to newspapers and magazines as they are easily available on the internet.

Watch News channels – You should also watch TV News channel debates and discussions on politics and current affairs. Watching ‘Prime Time’ at NDTV by ‘Ravish Kumar’ and by ‘Arnab Goswami’ on Times now are also again highly recommended. They will also help you develop an opinion on an issue.

Interviews of famous personalities should also be watched, not only from the perspective of the guest's personality but also from the anchor’s point of view.

Be Prepared for non-polity and economy issues – Just don’t be too occupied by the study of political and economy-related current affairs. Keep your knowledge of Hollywood and Bollywood or cricket and other sports for that matter; refer to websites such as IMDB. Look at matters such as Grammy and Oscars Awards.

Check famous television channels of India and abroad (especially reality shows), their celebrities, their tagline, and the issue they cover.

Join Coaching Institutes if necessary – If you still have doubts and problems or not able to understand where to start from then you can join a coaching institute for your IIMC preparation. Join coaching institutes only if really required.

IIMC 2021 Exam Pattern:

There is no specific exam pattern for the IIMC 2021 entrance exam. However, the candidates need to focus on some topics to be eligible for the exam. These are General Awareness, Aptitude and Mental Makeup, Analytical & Comprehension Skills, Brand Awareness and recall, Lateral thinking capabilities, etc. The exam will be continued for 120 mins.

IIMC (The Indian Institute of Mass Communication) will be conducting the IIMC Entrance Exam 2021. This test is to select candidates for admission to around 184 seats across 6 institutes for all post-graduation programs. The exam pattern for IIMC entrance constitutes a written exam followed by a personal interview/ group discussion round. The written exam holds 85% marks weightage whereas the personal interview/ group discussion holds 15% marks weightage.

Candidates must note that there will be a common entrance examination for admission to Hindi and English journalism courses at IIMC. Apart from this, there will be separate entrance exams for admissions to courses like Radio and TV journalism, Advertising and Public Relations, and Journalism (Odia) at IIMC.

IIMC 2021 is a pen-based written test consisting of questions on general awareness, aptitude, and language. The medium of the exam depends on the course opted by the candidate. PG Diploma in Journalism (Hindi) will have its question paper in Hindi and similar is the case for English and Oriya.

Question Pattern – The selection of students will be based on written examination. There will be a common entrance exam and question paper for journalism in English and Hindi. There will be separate exams for Radio and TV journalism similarly separate exams for Advertising & Public Relations and Journalism (Odiya) will be held.

The candidates who clear this exam will be called for group discussion and a personal interview. The performance of the candidate in both PI and GD will account for the final admission. The Interview Rounds will be conducted at Delhi and Dhenkanal (Odisha) campuses. The details of the Interview will be mentioned in the result and the call letter will be available online and will be shared via post. The weight-age division between the written exam and GD/PI is 85:15.

IIMC Cut-off 2021:

The cut-off of the entrance exam will be published on the official website of the IIMC. This cut-off will be declared after the successful completion of the exam. The students are requested to keep a keen update with the website in order not to miss any kind of update regarding the cut-off. The cut-off will be decided based on three factors:

1- Number of students attended the examination.

2- Number of total seats available for the admission

3- Previous year cut-off.

4- Difficulty level of the examination

IIMC 2021 Counselling:

The candidates will be selected on the basis of their performances in the IIMC 2021 entrance exam. The eligible candidates will be shortlisted in the merit list for the selection procedure. The candidates will be intimated as per their rank from the merit list. The selected candidates will be called for the interview & group discussion as part of the selection procedure. After these steps, the selected candidates will be allotted with seats. The candidates also need to carry their original documents for the document verification process.

Selection Process:

Candidates who appear in the written examination will be ranked on the basis of the marks obtained.

A shortlist based on merit will be prepared for each of the courses (including a separate shortlist for the reserved seats in each course).

The weightage for the written examination and the interview/ group discussion will be 75:25.

Candidates passing the group discussion/ personal interview round will then be eligible to take admission at any college accepting IIMC entrance exam 2021 ranks/scores.

Steps to check IIMC Entrance Exam Result:

Step 1: The candidate will have to visit the official page of IIMC in order to check the result of the IIMC 2021 entrance exam.

Step 2: On the official website of IIMC, the candidate has to click on the ‘Exam Result’ link which will be present in the News and Announcements section of the home page.

Step 3: On clicking on the ‘Exam Result’ link, the candidate will be directed to a new page on the browser.

Selection Process

Candidates appearing for the written test will be ranked on the basis of marks obtained in the IIMC 2021 entrance exam. Through the marks obtained, a shortlist will be prepared for each course. The shortlisted candidates will be called in for the second round of admissions at IIMC.

What after IIMC Entrance Exam Result?

Candidates who have cleared the written entrance exam will have to appear for the next round of admissions – Group Discussion (GD)/ Personal Interview (PI). Candidates who clear the second round will be eligible for admission in IIMC.

IIMC 2021 Answer key:

Once the exam is conducted, the institute will release the IIMC 2021 answer key. The answer key will be released by the Indian Institute of Mass Communication online in PDF format. Only candidates who have appeared for the entrance exam will be able to download the answer key once it is available online.
The IIMC 2021 answer key will allow the candidates to verify the answers of their attempted questions and then calculate their expected score. The first answer key will be released within 5 to 10 days after the exam completion.  The separate answer key will be released for each set of question paper like Set A, Set B, Set C and Set D or Set E, Set F, Set G and Set H, depending upon the number of sets distributed.
