A senior faculty member of IIMC said, "The health sector has grown exponentially and there is demand for people to communicate developments in the sector”. He also added, "This course will involve a good amount of research on various public policies and their legality".
The existing PG Diploma programs won't be affected by this inclusion and will run as per the schedule and won't be converted into full-time degree courses. "We want to get into emerging areas of journalism which will give an edge to our students", said the senior faculty of IIMC.
IIMC Entrance Exam is a university-level test conducted by the Indian Institute of Mass Communication for admission to PG Diploma courses in Journalism, PR and Advertising and Radio and TV Journalism offered at 6 campuses affiliated to the institute. From next year the above mentioned MA degree courses are also going to be added.
