IIMC 2021 Syllabus:

The candidates are advised to go through the syllabus for the entrance exam before starting their preparation. The entrance exam will be covering the basics of Journalism, Advertising, and Public Relations.

IIMC (The Indian Institute of Mass Communication) will be conducting the IIMC Entrance Exam 2021. This test is to select candidates for admission to around 184 seats across 6 institutes for all post-graduation programs. The application form can be submitted by both online and offline medium with the fee of INR 1200.

IIMC 2021 entrance exam does not have a standard pattern that can be followed but the candidates will be evaluated on the following topics in the exams.

a) For Journalism Courses- Candidates appearing for journalism entrance tests 2021 at IIMC will be judged on the following parameters:

1- General Awareness

2- Awareness of matters of politics and economy.

3- Understanding of social dynamics.

4- Social History.

5- International issues in the world and their impact on India.

6- Aptitude and mental make-up

7- Language proficiency.

8- Comprehension & analytical skills

b) For Advertising and Public Relations- For the Advertising and Public Relations entrance exam, candidates will be judged on:

1- Brand awareness & recall

2- Aptitude & mental make-up

3- Language capability

4- Comprehension & analytical skills

5- Quantification skills

IIMC 2021 Preparation Tips

IIMC (Indian Institute of Mass Communication) is one of the most reputed institutes in the whole country. There are lots of candidates who apply for this exam and hence making it highly competitive in nature. IIMC provides quality education and excellent skills. To pass IIMC Entrance exams one needs to burn the midnight oil. These are the following tips you should follow to increase your chances to clear this exam.

Regular reading of Newspapers – You should read newspapers, magazines, editorials, and articles related to current affairs. The editorial part of the newspaper ‘The Hindu’s highly recommended as it helps you to develop an opinion about a specific matter or an issue.

There is no need of buying subscriptions to newspapers and magazines as they are easily available on the internet.

Watch News channels – You should also watch TV News channel debates and discussions on politics and current affairs. Watching ‘Prime Time’ at NDTV by ‘Ravish Kumar’ and by ‘Arnab Goswami’ on Times now are also again highly recommended. They will also help you develop an opinion on an issue.

Interviews of famous personalities should also be watched, not only from the perspective of the guest's personality but also from the anchor’s point of view.

Be Prepared for non-polity and economy issues – Just don’t be too occupied by the study of political and economy-related current affairs. Keep your knowledge of Hollywood and Bollywood or cricket and other sports for that matter; refer to websites such as IMDB. Look at matters such as Grammy and Oscars Awards.

Check famous television channels of India and abroad (especially reality shows), their celebrities, their tagline, and the issue they cover.

Join Coaching Institutes if necessary – If you still have doubts and problems or not able to understand where to start from then you can join a coaching institute for your IIMC preparation. Join coaching institutes only if really required.
