Biological Sciences and Bioengineering program (BIO) aims to educate students about developing new bioinformatics tools. They also learn about Biomaterials, Biomechanics and Cell and Tissue Engineering, Biomedical Devices, Computational Bioengineering, Biomedical Imaging, Premed and Synthetic Biology. Students acquire knowledge about applying engineering principles to the re-conceptualization of biological phenomena. Training is imparted to them to develop new materials and processes, which would include genetic modification of agriculturally important plants and human cells. The students would be given intensive knowledge about molecular biology.

Admission Process
Desiring candidates can take admission in B.Tech/B.E. program through the entrance test. JEE Main is the all India level entrance exam that acts as a gateway for admission to the first-year undergraduate engineering courses. Besides this, there are many state/University level entrance exam that offers admission to engineering courses.
Candidates holding a bachelor’s degree can apply for master’s courses in biological engineering. The admissions in M.Tech courses is done through GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering). The entrance test of GATE is conducted in the month of February. Some states/institutions also regulate its own separate test to grant admission in PG courses.
