In Seed Science & Technology, students are taught the growth and the formation of seeds from the process of fertilization of the egg cell on the maternal plant as long formation of a new plant from the seed takes seed. M.Sc. in Seed Science & Technology is a two years long course which is divided into four semesters. 

In this course, students are taught the theoretical study of seed growth. It also elaborates the different methods of controlling and evaluating seed materials. The study of M.Sc. in Seed Science and Technology is also connected to the study of biochemistry, botany, other biological sciences and genetics. By studying this course, students will cover the seed technology and production, advanced methods and routine of seed testing, plant breeding and genetics, pomological, molecular biology, seed biology, ornamental nursery production, seed pests and diseases, seed biology, landscape architecture, extension in the seed industry

M.Sc. in Seed Science and Technology

  • Candidate must have passed their final year graduation examination in the respective field of specialization (B.Sc. Agriculture/B.Sc. Biotechnology/B.Sc. life sciences/B.Sc. Biology etc.)
  • Candidate must have at least 50% (relaxable for reserved category candidates) marks from a recognized state/central/deemed university

Important Note:

  1. He/She shall not be having any supplementary or compartment in any of the subject/subjects at graduation level that is yet to be cleared at the time of taking admissions.
  2. Apart from the above-mentioned eligibility criteria’s various colleges and institutes may have their own additional criteria which the students would have to satisfy in order to take admission (Like work or research experience in the respective domain).
  3. In the case of reserved category students, they would have to present their reservation certificates issued by the competent authorities in order to avail of the benefits applicable to them.
  4. Institutes offering admissions through the Common Entrance Test go for scores of ICAR AIEAA. To get admissions in these institutes candidates would have to qualify the respective entrance exam by securing minimum qualifying marks.
