Biotechnology Engineering is a branch of engineering which is the combination of biology, technology, and engineering. It teaches one to use living organisms/biological systems with engineering, medicine, technology, and other products for the benefit of human survival or living. The course includes subjects other than biologies like physics, chemistry, mathematics, and topics like embryology, biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, genetic engineering, tissue culture, etc. Basically, it is a kind of research study done on the activities of living organisms combining it with other technologies. It can be divided into two types- Core Biotechnology (BT) and Food Technology (FT). Admission Process

For Diploma: Admission for Diploma in Biotechnology is done by various State-Level entrance exams or by directly on the basis of merit list in 10th and +2.

For B.E/B.TECH: Eligible candidates are admitted for B.E/B.TECH in Biotechnology through entrance exams such as JEE Main, VITEEE. Entrance exams are conducted on a national level, state level, and university level. Cut-off marks for admission vary from college to college.

For M.E/M.TECH: Candidates eligible to pursue this course go through entrance exams such as GATE. Good performance in entrance exams is followed by a round of personal interviews and counseling by the institution.
